I completely agree!!!I ve talked with your company and U connect 5 times in the past month. And the only thing they say is an update might be avail in Jan. 55 grand for a new jeep 3 months ago and 3500 for a life time warranty. Do you think this is an acceptable answer? I ve had better service st mc donalds then from your company.
Did they respond to you or did you fix it?I’m having the same problem too. I got my jeep a week ago and am experiencing the intermittent radio/ speaker cut out in the 8.4” monitor. I will try the reset that was provided in the chat above. But there has to be a solution/ reason that Jeep can find to fix this problem. I live in northern Wisconsin... so this whole radio on the Frits because of the cold is not going to work for me. I have noticed as well that the problem starts when it is cold. I took it into my local dealer where they told me they couldn’t find anything, and maybe it was the battery. @JeepCares please help us all out and solve this problem and share it with your dealers!
As an update, mine has been working since being at the dealer last Monday. I am back to the dealer tomorrow to check and see if there are any codes that have come up, but so far so good.M
My understanding is they charged and load tested the battery.
Was it an over the air up date? And when did it get to your radio? As an update, mine has been working since being at the dealer last Monday. I am back to the dealer tomorrow to check and see if there are any codes that have come up, but so far so good.
They installed a brand new radio, not a refurbished one? And the problem came back? So every new jeep that comes off the line will most likely have this issue?I have been having the same issues with the radio cutting out every few seconds and the parking lines not working on the backup system. After several visits to the dealer they replaced the radio unit on Friday (12/14), today (12/17), same issues! As others have mentioned its intermittent so its more annoying than anything else.
Curious to know if others have noticed if you shut off the engine the radio cutting out stops while running on the aux power? I'm not sure what this says but this happens with mine every time.
Hoping someone with @JeepCares is passing all of this along. I have shared all of this with my dealers service department.
I was at the dealer today, no codes in the system so all appears to be working. The radio/audio system has not cut out since the dealer charged and load tested the battery. Dealer says that as my Jeep sat on the lot for 2 months (was a 9/18 build) the battery really needed to be charged. I'd say that maybe it was not prepped properly, but so far everything works, not sure about an over the air update. Was it an over the air up date? And when did it get to your radio?

Thanks for the update Brent. Keep us posted on how this goes, this may be our only root cause to chase after at the moment. I'm wondering if connecting a trickle/battery charger (such as a Battery Tender) would resolve the issue.I was at the dealer today, no codes in the system so all appears to be working. Don't you drive it for long distance? Because if you drive it on the highway for like an hour or more the battery gets a full charge so I'm not sure how that would be a fix. Especially since the issue comes and goes. Thanks for the update Brent. Keep us posted on how this goes, this may be our only root cause to chase after at the moment. I've updated my posts in the 5thGenRAM forum as well with this information. My RAM was a July build, and I didn't take possession until mid-September. It probably sat for just as long, causing battery issues.
Yes I do. Sometimes the issue comes back even after a long drive (thus the battery being fully charged). I'm thinking either the batteries that FCA supplied us aren't up to spec, or they're draining quickly enough to cause this issue.Don't you drive it for long distance? One thing I do (shouldn't have to do on a $50k vehicle) is occasionally look at the voltage indicator on the dash. In stop mode, it can get down to 12.0, but never lower than that. Service manager at the dealership told me that the battery was severely discharged. Charged it and load tested and all ok. Again, all is running smoothly since last Monday 12/10.Thanks for the update Brent. Keep us posted on how this goes, this may be our only root cause to chase after at the moment.
