Audio system issue - cutting in and out

FYI: This reboot using green phone button and voice command button doesn't work.

Daily Update:

Last night 9/20/18, Boulder, Colorado 7:45pm 37 degrees. No remote start. No comfort controls used. Audio works fine. NO Backup Camera Guidelines despite the setting being set to active.

This morning 9/21/18 Boulder, Colorado 8:00 am 39 degrees. No remote start. No comfort controls used. All is normal. Backup Camera Guidelines have returned.

CAVEAT: Weather predicted to be poor for Saturday and Sunday. Expecting all systems to completely malfunction. I sincerely hope the computer doesn't start to effect things like the fuel gauge, the tire pressure monitoring or anything that could be a major safety concern, i.e. the cruise control, the braking system, air bags etc. This is bigger than "the radio doesn't work". It continually progresses and effects more and varied systems within the vehicle.

@JeepCares : Everybody here needs some better communication about where engineering is on providing a fix for this please.

So I just got back from the dealer and apparently there was an update on November 11th. My truck just didn't update though, the over the air update just don't seem to work with my truck and believe it or not the dealer was unable to download the update to install it manually. He said the update was too recent for him to download it?????

They also told me that that update could or could NOT fix the issue they still have no idea.

In my case they are unable to install it and the over the air update just doesn't work until they have updated it manually... They told me I have to check with them every now and then and one day they will be able to download and install it but no ETA was given, the guy even told me: ''In a day, a week , a month, a year... there is no way of knowing'' Great!! lol

So my Connect system is apparently not updated even if it says that it is on the Connect website (when entering my VIN)...

Guess I'll have to endure it. I'm now carrying a small Bose speaker in my truck in case the issue occurs, what a shame though for a brand new 60k$ vehicle...

I originally thought this as well. I went as far as removing all Bluetooth, USB, and CarPlay/Android Auto connections, on both ends. The issue still persisted. I even tested letting the truck start up at first, waiting a few minutes, then powering on uConnect and HVAC systems. Same issue. I really do think itā€™s an inherent issue within the OS/firmware version of our uConnect systems.
Yeah, who knows. I just got it again today and once again it was as soon as I plugged in my phone. The satellite radio had kicked in already but this time I was in reverse (with the clutch in).

This time though I have what appears to be a new issue. I shut off the radio, went and filled up with gas, turned the Jeep back on and the radio came on after hitting the power button a few times. It went through the Uconnect startup sequence. When it Bluetooth connected to my phone and gave me the "Accept" prompt, I hit the button and it froze. Now that frozen screen stays on even when the vehicle is off!! I tried the reboot sequence suggest by holding down the buttons but it's locked up. Pretty frustrating.

It is not the cold that is effecting mine I live in southern California and it is still warm, I noticed that it gets worse when i come to a stop and then gets real bad when the auto stop start stops the engine and the battery voltage drops to 12.4 volts.
If the voltage stays above 12.8 it does not happen as often.
My JLU Rubicon is a 2.0t

We pay too much $$$ to get product like this, and then the poor service on top of it!

I understand your concerns, but we ask for PMs because we usually need VINs, case numbers, contact information, etc, and we don't want to encourage this private information to be shared on a public thread.

Wanted to update - it appears a 12.1" uConnect user received an update to their system a few days ago, but the intermittent audio issue re-appeared. If you're hoping for an update, it looks like RAM or Jeep may not know of the issue as of yet.

I will say that I am happy that Jeep Cares is responding within this thread. It is WAY more than my dealership has done.

I concur with you, the Jeep Wave customer service stinks, the lack of reply stinks, and the general lack of caring from Jeep is terrible!

I spent $50,000 on a New Rubicon and itā€™s been broken for a week!

Terrible, I wish I kept my Chevy!

- Radio Cuts Out, Back up camera issues, screen locks, cuts out occasionally
- Jeep cross threaded a bumper screw in manufacturing
- Manual Shirts canā€™t turn off seat warmer from coming on??? wTF!!!

For a $50,000 vehicle I believe I was screwed! So many hours on hold with jeep

I concur with you, the Jeep Wave customer service stinks, the lack of reply stinks, and the general lack of caring from Jeep is terrible!

I spent $50,000 on a New Rubicon and itā€™s been broken for a week!

I get it. I drove a Toyota 4-Runner for 15 years. LOVED that vehicle. Thought a change would be good. I do love my Jeep when it isn't doing wonky stuff. Sigh, still hoping for the best.

My Wrangler JL does not even have 400 miles on it and I just experienced it tonight on my way home from work. (Music cut out and no lines on backup camera. Very frustrating to be having a issue like this on a $54,000 vehicle. Maybe they should not have switched to alpine brand. Had 2 JK Jeeps in the past and still have 1 and never had any issue. Does anyone know anything more? I tried the resets with no luck. I did get a software update from uconnect the other day. Not sure what it was for but I did it. If it was for this issue it didnā€™t fix it. I share all of your frustration on this matter and they better get it fixed fast.

Trust me I have 10hrs of phone calls in on this since I bought last Monday.

They apparently ordered one off the assembly line for me, still 3 days out to get a replacement.

WTF, why wouldnā€™t they have done this a week ago instead of stringing me along.

I want this Jeep gone!
