So today on my way to work my entire audio system was cutting in and out. The audio would play for 2 secs and then cut off for about 1/2 of a sec and cycle over and over. Didn’t matter if it was XM, AM, FM, or using Spotify on CarPlay.

Not sure if this has anything to do with it but last night was the first night we left it out of the garage and their was a good deal of frost on it. But I’m sure that can be the issue.

I got to work and restarted the car and the same problem persisted. I’ll check after work but this seemed strange and wanted to hear if anyone else experienced this.

I know on our old Volvo we had audio issues that only corrected it self with a new battery but this is only 2 months old so the battery should be fine.

I had the same issue this weekend, back up camera was also a blue screen. Complete the steps for the Uconnect reset and it should fix the issue, It fixed mine. Hold down the green phone and voice command buttons simultaneously for 30 seconds while ignition is set to run but engine not started. Turn ignition to off, open door, then try again.

I tried the reset option. How do I know if it works. There was no visible evidence that it reset.

I had this issue for the first time in my 5 months of ownership just 2 days ago. Was losing my mind, had to turn off the radio completely since as you said it was a problem on every source, even a plugged in iPod. Next morning when I started it up everything was back to normal.

Having the same issue, right now my Uconnect won’t let me access CarPlay with my iPhone plugged in

Same problem here... This is the second time it happened. I think it might have been the remote start operation. Will experiment again...

Why is there no easy way to reset the radio? The 2015 Grand Cherokee was simple to reset.

My rear parking lines also disappeared today...

Has not been that cold in NY... try to change the settings in uconnect so it does not activate the heated steering wheel and seat and let us know if it is still happening,,,,

Ok... It's cold again.... And again the radio is stuttering... Somewhere around 35 degrees is the trigger... It's not tied to remote start or the auto comfort setting....

I’m having the same problem too. I got my jeep a week ago and am experiencing the intermittent radio/ speaker cut out in the 8.4” monitor. I will try the reset that was provided in the chat above. But there has to be a solution/ reason that Jeep can find to fix this problem. I live in northern Wisconsin... so this whole radio on the Frits because of the cold is not going to work for me. I have noticed as well that the problem starts when it is cold. I took it into my local dealer where they told me they couldn’t find anything, and maybe it was the battery. @JeepCares please help us all out and solve this problem and share it with your dealers!

SAME ISSUE! I took it in for service and because they couldn't reproduce the problem they just sent me on my way after making me PAY $12 to drive a rental MINI VAN all weekend. Good gravy, I didn't buy a Rubicon to get stuck in a mini van all weekend AND pay for it. The next time the audio cut in and out it also created a glitch in the navigator that cut the radio to deliver directions but the navigation voice that is supposed to be heard at this point wasn't present at all, just silence, then back to music cutting in and out. I pulled over and shut down the engine to turn it back on in hopes of reset. Things just got worse. I tried to turn the radio down to zero but the radio kept playing albeit with the annoying cutting in and out so I decided to open the vehicle door to entirely kill the power. The power stayed on when I opened the door after the engine was shut down!! It only resets after the vehicle has been shut down for several hours. A week later the cutting in and out started again but this time it effected the backup camera. The camera works but the guidelines disappear. I too wonder if it is related to remote start because it seems like it only does it if I use remote start in the cold but not every time I use remote start. So, I don't know. it's an enigma.

My Rubicon has less than 3500 miles on it and I've already taken it in once for this. I called and SPOKE to the service contact Robbie at LHM Jeep on 104th in Westminster, Colorado and told him that the electrical issues were persisting and becoming worse. I asked him to research the problem with whatever information was available to him regarding this issue on my new enormously expensive vehicle and get back to me. That was Thursday Nov 9th. Today is the 19th and I still have yet to hear back from Robbie at LHM Jeep. I left a message on the morning of the 16th to have the service manager Jon Campbell please call me and specifically stated why. Today It's 2pm on the 19th and I haven't heard from him either. @JeepCares please help me out. Is this a battery/Uconnect reset issue? I'll try it. What exactly are the steps please? I really need some satisfaction on this issue because for $52K and I've only made two payments on it, I need the computer to work. The problems can be seen as a potential safety issue as they increase and persist in new and varying ways.

Issues:
1. Radio/XM/bluetooth audio cuts in and out
2. When audio cuts in and out it effects other systems i.e. Navigation and backup camera
3. When audio is cutting in and out it effects other electrical i.e. power stays on after engine turned off AND door has been opened.
4. Service department at LHM Jeep in Westminster, Colorado is completely non-responsive.

Thank you,
Really Sad New Jeep Owner

Well I see I’m not the only one. I just came back to this board to update that it happened again for the past two days and it does seem to be related to the remote start. Not cool for cold northern chicago.

I’ll call the dealer and see if they can do anything but this seems to be an update and hopefully a software update can fix this. Seriously, this is a quirk that shouldn’t have gotten through Q/C and should be able to be fixed quickly.
