I have the 6pak shocks which have really long travel so there's only one size. About time to charge these again - I'll be looking into nitrogen charge kits.
You might check the length, but I think they are around 28". The original Rocksport reds are 30" and the new "longer" Rocksport reds are 32", which is about the longest I've seen for OE mount JL shocks. They told me they were for their long arm kit.

Extended length on the 6paks is 28.25" and compressed length is really short at 13.25". When you install these you need to use their shock relocation kit that brings the lower mount up about 3" so comparable extension would be around 31-32".

the only thing i dont like about the artec just viewing it. the joints. Alot of places use that rebuildable joint but they dont last every long. maybe 10-15K miles. before you're disassembling to rebuild and then re aligning again. Id love to see the kit on a vehicle though! ill add this to the list of potential kits to look at this year. :D I do love the fact that they offer the aluminum arms but i'd still rum the dom knowing that the arms are doing to drag on the rocks a-lot

That's the one I was eyeballing but even I'm having trouble justifying the price 🤣
I hear ya, but I really wanted the fill hose with the thumb knobs, and just the quality of this thing is better than I thought…. I said fuk it , and it helped when the CFO said just get the one you want, I’m tired of listening to it…🤣

Your wrong about the Rock Jock Jimmy joints..... they don't wear out in 10-15K.... just grease them every time you do an oil change or about every 3 months and they will last for years....I just recently had to rebuild the Rock Jock Jimmy joints on the 1997 TJ.

I know it. I always somehow think springs are going to be so easy to change but it never is. I found that with the long arms I get more potential articulation and the e-brake cables basically become limiting straps. I got one of these and will be installing this weekend:

https://www.synergymfg.com/synergy-jeep-jl-jlu-parking-brake-cable-relocation-bracket.html
I had one of those brackets and took it off. I have so much down travel, it was bending the bracket. Parking brake cables are free ballin now.

Did you go to the 32" long shocks? I'm running 30" Rocksport reds right now and I bought the 32" Rocksport reds even though the guy at MC said they "keep them for the long arm kits". I chickened out from installing them, since it was getting dark and I was tired. Probably a good thing. A bunch of things need to be checked to run them without doing something bad.
I have the 32” rears on mine. If I drop the rear axle straight down as far as it will go, the 3.5” GC springs start to become unseated. During articulation though, it’s fine.

Notice how much rear steer I have with the short arms. Once I get around to installing the RK long arm kit, there won’t be near as much axle steer.

That's a good point about the joints. The thing I like about Metalcloak is their joints and their engineering. Just not happy with low hanging brackets on the Metalcloak and concerned about the Artec skids working well without mods.

I am a pretty low mileage driver. So, may consider the Artec regardless.

Wonder if these will work on a 2 door? Doesn't really say and I see a 2Dr JK in the pictures. Everyone says a long arm won't work on a JL 2 door but ................?
