Looks like I jinxed myself. Service hybrid system warning and charge fault are now present after literally sitting in my garage on the EVSE for 2 days. Initially had ZERO power to anything when I jumped in, ended up having to juice the 12v battery up just to get any response. Managed to get it to turn on but it refuses to move let alone "start" even with the ICE. Tried to clear the codes with my tazer and my scanner, codes are persistent and won't clear. Tried unplugging the 12v battery for an hour to see if I could old school reset the system, still nothing. Gonna have it towed to the dealer in the morning. 5300 trouble free miles and it randomly decided to die. Lovely. Build date 8/2021. Hopefully it's something stupid simple but I have a feeling it's gonna be out of commission for a while.

I love it! Best upgrade ever! Front bumps won't arrive for a long time... rears kinda have to wait.

AccuTune rocked the valving and spring weights! I took it to a scale prior to ordering and got front and rear weights. I was floored how close the weight distribution was on the 4xe... within 40lbs.

Anyway, I would highly recommend! Ask for John.

I was floored how close the weight distribution was on the 4xe... within 40lbs.

Battery packs are great for this. The engineers can play around with something that has enough weight to matter and shape it to their needs to help tweak the weight distribution of the vehicle.

Anyone running only 2” of front bump with 37s? I never had any rubbing at 2” with the spacer lift, but I put 3” in (stock jounce) when I put the MC stuff on. Tempted to go back to 2” in front to get some more stability off camber. Or perferable 1” + durosprings.

The durosprings fixed my rear inner fender rub out back with only a 2” bump.

I'm a little concerned about the non pre heat cast welding on the front axle truss. What machine are you using to weld? Some areas have a big HAZ and others have little HAZ.

That ground clamp is suspect and I see no alignment bar.

I did not heat treat it. I started to, but ran out of gas. And due to the timing when I could do it at the dealer I work for, it was late at night and I couldn’t get any at the time. I did wrap i to let it cool slowly. The machine is a millermatic 211. No alignment bar was used, and I haven’t heard of that? Is it to keep the axle straight? This was my first axle I trussed, so still am learning some things. I did check the Jeeps alignment before and after to verify it didn’t warp at least.

.035 ER70 [mild steel]

Welding onto cast requires me to switch my setup.
75%AR 25%HE
.035 ERNiCu

The second setup is specific for cast welding and I have had good results with pre heating, peening to relieve stress and then post heat and blanket for slow cooling.

The copper nickel wire shrinks less and you don't hear the crackling glass like cold welding with ER70 mild steel wire.

Definitely pick up an alignment bar and pucks for the diff housing and axle ends.

Not to be a jerk but you need to watch the puddle. You have areas with little penetration [tall bead] and over penetration [shallow bead]. Plus, I think your setup is making it more difficult. Not that you aren't skilled but you are fighting something that may not be fixed with technique. It may be bad ground, I don't see much bare metal around your clamp.

That ground clamp looks like a 110v machine. You absolutely need to be using a 220v machine. Not a 110/220

BTW, I am no expert. Lots of people way better than me at welding and probably have different opinions. I can say this with 100% confidence... welding axles is whole different ball game.

I found that out when doing it that axles seem different. I did a lot of reading and online some people say just weld, and others say all the additional steps you recommend. Without formal training it’s hard to say what was needed. I honestly don’t know the wire or gas setup since the shop foreman got it all. Is there something I should be worried about? Would you redo them? I am always willing to learn/improve. I don’t weld for a living (lexus diagnostic specialist) and the welder we have is mainly for rusty exhausts and repairing broken shop equipment. But this is a 110-220 machine ran on 220v for the axle.
