Anti Theft code timeout

I have a used 8.4 screen i installed a year ago and i need to do a battery update. Just wondering if i will need the code after minutes, hours, days of disconnecting the battery? I cant find the code and seller hasnt responded to my questions. Im doing the genesis dual battery setup so about 2-3 hours to play it safe of no power to the radio

Mine asked for a code right after startup. It was after I pulled it for a trial install of a new HU. Also it was the original radio so that went away after a second or two, but it was asking for the code on startup. Hope this helps.

Go to your local dealer service department and get the code from them.

You shouldn’t have to enter the code again to unlock it. I have swapped the radio in mine and have disconnected the battery a few times without having to enter the code again.

I did the Genesis battery install and was disconnected most of the day. No problems. I have 8.4 also.

Once the radio is married to the vehicle, it should not require a code.
