Hey guys,

I’m all out of options and ideas on why I can’t get my aux switch panel to work. My JLUR didn’t come with it installed, or the trailer package, so I took it upon myself to install both set ups, since it seemed pretty easy and much cheaper than to have the dealership do it. Like most guys here have done. But here’s where things are not so the same. Mine don’t work. I took the Jeep to the dealership to get the computer flashed after I installed them, and nothing. They couldn’t figure it out. Eventually they said I wired the trailer wiring to the wrong side (I wired it to the passenger side tail light like the directions and videos online said). So I left frustrated and pissed.

After some more reading on here, I read the switches won’t work unless there are lights hooked up to them, so I installed some lights to the bumpers, and nothing. I couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting power to the switches. I figured maybe the fuses were loose, so I checked the fuse box, and it turns out Mopar makes 2 separate fuse boxes for JL’s with and without the trailer tow package. Mine was a no trailer package box, and had no slots available for the aux fuses to fit into. So ordered the trailer tow package fuse box which does come with slots for the auxiliary switches and trailering fuses, and hooked it up. Still nothing.

I called Mopar’s service help line, and basically the dude said Mopar (Jeep) does not make an auxiliary switch panel for the 2018 Jeep JL. After trying several times to tell him that they do, and it’s listed for sale on their website as well every other online store, I was so furious I hung up on the guy.

So next step, I ordered a TazerJL in hopes that would fix it....awesome piece of gear, but it didn’t work.

So, I’m totally stumped. Other than taking it all out and starting over, I have no idea what else to do. If any of you guys have any words of wisdom, or experience, or just wanna kick me while I’m down, I’d really appreciate it. I’ve read a bunch of posts on the switches already and I’m completely stumped.

I don’t get on here often but will check more often for reply’s, but if you want, you can text me. Due to the telemarketer terrorists, I usually don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize, but feel free to call and leave a message if I don’t respond. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks guys (and gals),

Eric G

Did you have any issues with the orange pin inserting into the new provided harness (step 22-24) in the instructions? I tried different ways to get it in but it wouldn't fully seat, so I didn't even use the harness, I just connect the two orange pins together and electric taped it. The buttons will light up even if you don't have anything plugged in.

Yeah mine definitely don't light up like that. I do remember the orange pin not feeling like it would fully insert/snap into into place, no matter how hard I pushed it in. I guess I can try just connecting the two wires together and see if that helps. Thanks for the input!

Ok, I wired the two orange wires together like you said, and still nothin. Fml. Checked all the grounds, all the fuses, the power lines, and the wires under the kick panel are hard wired together bypassing the large clips. Reset the Taser JL, several times, and nothing. I'm gonna shoot myself....after I burn this piece of shit to the ground! I just know it's something small I'm missing and I'm gonna wanna hit myself over, I just can't find it....yet.

When I installed ours the fuse was missing. Installed the fuse and life was grand. It took a week to figure that one out.

Which fuse is that? I'll triple check it again cause I've gone over all these fuses several times to make sure I had them and they were all seated properly. I just pulled the dash panel and double checked to make sure I had all the wires plugged in the back of the switch panel correctly...and as far as I can tell, they are.

There are five fuses in the wiring harness. Four are in the switch circuit and one is in the power line. I think it was a fifteen amp fuse. If the Jeep was here I would take a picture. It won’t be home until Tuesday.

Between the AUX switches, CB install and the Morimoto DRL Directional signals I spent way to much time standing on my head working on wiring problems.

Jesus titty fucking christ! I found that 5th fuse you were talking about. And it's a 5 amp, and its blown. I wanna throw up
Holy shit. This was my problem too. My auxiliary switches weren’t getting power and i didn’t know where to look. checked connections, grounds, in the fuse box... nothing. that little fuse by the battery leads was hidden up under something else. Thanks everyone!!!!!!
