I’ve read so much on this that Ive confused myself so I need some help.

I’m having new wheels and tires put on this week. The tire is 35x12.5x17 and the wheels are -12 offset, 4.5” backspace. Weight of the full package appears to be 100lbs per tire

Right now I only have the RC relocation bracket.

If I extend the bump stops with the pvc method, is this safe to run temporarily on the RC bracket? I will be doing some intermediate off roading in a few weeks. Everything except the teraflex alpha hd bracket is sold out everywhere Ive looked. I really dont want to spend $1300 on this.

With this setup, what would you recommend to use permanently?

You'll be fine. I've been running 100# for a while with no effects. I am about to install a CavFab Elite carrier though.

Is the new package for a JLU or Rubicon?

Post pics after install. I am especially interested in seeing how much poke a -12 offset wheel will have. The tool @ https://tiresize.com/wheel-offset-calculator/ seems to show that a 35 x 12.5 R17 will be 3.65" further out than stock on a JLU.

You'll likely be fine. But I would point out that the Teraflex Alpha HD bracket is not $1300. It's about $365. You are looking at the Bracket along with the tailgate reinforcement. The bracket is all you would need, as it is rated for 100 lbs.

There is an entire thread with people talking about running larger tires without reinforcement and having no damage over time. Might be a good read.

If the BS of the wheel doesn't let the tire touch the snubber, this is something that I have used on hers:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004Y75VWW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1
Thats what I was leaning towards as a temporary fix.

Ok, glad to hear.

This is for a Sport Altitude. I currently have 275/70R18’s so its 3.05 inches more than what I have now.

Im a little worried its more poke than I wanted but since the axles arent as wide as the Rubicon, and Ive seen this setup on there and liked it, I think it’ll look how I want.

Thats where I keep getting confused on if I NEED the reinforcement brackets that mount to the hinges. Obviously that’d be ideal.

You don't need reinforcement bracket. I've been running 37s with no reinforcement for 3 years. I have the teraflezcu mentioned to get the clearance.

New wheels and tires on and it landed exactly where I wanted it.

A little bit of poke but not too much. Looks really good.

The reason I worry about too much poke is that apparently in IL you can get a ticket. From what I have read they generally don't ticket for tires poking past fender but best not to tempt fate by going over the top and yours looks perfect.
