Yes, every say 6 hours, I plugged in the S23 to charge it's battery.
Just curious how you charged your phone. I haven't tried in a while, but when I plugged my phone into the front USB port the phone wants to switch between wireless android auto and wired (I'm also running a AA wireless dongle). And it would glitch when switching between the two. So now on a long trip I run a cable from the two back USB ports behind the armrest that don't have data capabilities to charge my phone while still running with AA wireless. For a convince sake, I would love to be able to plug in up front and seamlessly switch between the two.

As you, I'm using a charge only USB port...

I use the USB port on passenger side rear of console that is charge only. I always have a USB cable plugged into that charge only port and have the cable running up to my front passenger.... or for my use for charging.

Tip-->For those that want to know which of their JL/JT USB ports, are both data and power, go to "Media", in UConnect and only those ports with data capability will be listed in UConnect. IF, if you want a charge only to use, use a USB port not on that list.

@JAF1

By the way...

You could use a non data .... power only USB cable with the a USB port that is both data and power to power up your smartphone.

With that said use that front USB port, connecting your smartphone to it with a charge only USB cable whenever you want to just charge the smartphone, without any connection/data link to UCONNECT.

Good point, I'll have to look into one of those. I have a nice little 12" cable that worked perfectly. But I was using it with a USB data blocker and that made it stick out too far.

Well...it's in. I sure hope it corrects the shortcomings of AA as of late. I use Gaia and Onx for mapping in the Jeep and with the new Samsung S23 Ultra, things did not play well. If it is a shirt show, I'm assuming I can rollback? Thanks for the heads up and info...

IF you want to roll back, go to smart phone, Settings>Apps>Android Auto>Storage and there, "Clear Data". Now, install the Android Auto release version you want to use.

By the way, I have a Samsung S23 and it is playing very well with Wireless Android Auto / AAWireless dongle. (I use Maps and Waze)

Not THAT's interesting...since I got my new S23 Ultra AA has worked like CRAP. Half the time AA says "Device not Supported" and after dicking around, AA will come up and work for a few times, then back to "not Supported".... Wasn't sure to blame AA, Samsung or the crazy computer goddess...

Gaia GPS just absolutely REFUSES to work on AA with this combination so it's purely secondary with Onx taking the primary role...and still a bit buggy.

I AM running with a data/charge cable to the front plug on the JLURD. I had NO luck with a wireless setup on the Harley...but it SURE would be nice.

Any ideas for my AA issues if the new .APK still sucks?

THANKS!!

Quite a few Samsung Ultra owner's have reported issues with Android Auto. Not all Ultra owner's but lets say enough....

When you got your Ultra, did you go to Smartphone Connection Manager and delete all found there and then pair your Ultra?

Are you running the current version of the AA Wireless companion app?

Be sure to also occasionally empty cache's for Android Auto, Google Play Services, any and all apps associated with Android Auto.

Read here/join... you can even go back and forth with Snirpo the guy from AA Wireless

After a test run yesterday, AA and my mapping apps worked "better"...not perfect but at least they did not totally flop and give me errors. Time will tell. Gaia is the one that is really being a problem, I'm thinking it probably on their end and they need to work it out. Onx works pretty good but has it's own limitations...

The latest .APK you turned me on to was an improvement...THANKS!

I am still running with a cable but I'm really interested in AA wireless. What brand are you running? If you've had success with it, I'd like to try it.
