2/9/23 There is a new Waze beta. Ver: 4.91.90.901

I had to uninstall Waze to get it to load. Once installed, I signed in with my email address and all my data was back in Waze.

Remember to always go through settings in Waze after install of Waze.... especially when installing a Waze beta. Lots of settings there that impact Google Voice, etc..

Curiosity got the best of me. I went out to the Jeep to test it.
It's getting better. Google Maps still works as normal, but I'm not on a beta.
With this morning's Waze Beta, it's better. Voice commands work. If I say "Tame me to Kroger" it'll give me a list of Kroger stores to pick from.. that was not working for me. If I say "Take me to Some Address" it'll route me to that address... that was not working before either.
What Waze won't do now is route me home when I say "Take me home" or to work then I say "Take me to work".. the voice tells me it's talking me to the address and it acts like it's calculating a route then comes back destination cannot be found.
If I go into my saved destinations on Waze, and hit home or work, it calculates it just fine.

An odd thing that it has been doing for a while and has come back is if I say "Take me Home" and only this phrase, not work or anywhere else, It repeats back to me "Oklahoma, navigating to" my address. I can only assume it's supposed to say OK and converts OK to Oklahoma instead. Maybe the voice I have it set to use is at fault here. I think that's just funny when it happens

Also, the interface looks different than yesterday.. back to what it was before I side loaded the Beta the other day.

Ok, I'm looking at my phone, and according to Google, Android Auto "current release" is 8.7.630264 and updated on 2/2/2023. IDK if it's because I only have a Pixel 6 Pro, but appears my phone hasn't updated to the 8.8 release w/ Coolwalk.

A big part of being in the beta is reporting issues like this to them there. I've been part of their beta since just about day one and have had several reported issues resolved.

I just went and checked out the Waze beta.Ver: 4.91.90.901 , I installed last night and I'm now missing Coolwalk in regard to Waze. I still have Coolwalk with Google Maps.

OH... About "Oklahoma" ..... I have been getting that for a long time now.

According to discussions on Reddit the release version seems to be relatively irrelevant since some are getting Coolwalk on really old versions. My switch occurred in the middle of the day without any changes on my part. It's all determined on their servers.

Fair enough, that makes sense. I'm just trying to get the split screen to work (trying to find the setting) and for Waze to stop freezing/slow-update/be more accurate. I have the "new" look with the 4 icons along the bottom, so maybe I already have Coolwalk...I'll have to poke around and see if I can find the settings.

My wife's waze says Oklahoma, mine says Okay (as in OK, which could be being translated as the state abbreviation.) Neither on Beta, my phone is a Galaxy S22, she is on a Zfold 4.

Just back from a 40 mile trip. Both Waze and Maps working aok. Split Screen with Maps and no split screen with Waze.

Waze says Oklahoma and Maps says OK, when I say "Navigate Home".

When I say OK Google (whether in Waze or Maps) and then say the destination, the route pops up / directions, etc..

I am seeing smooth/speedy transitions between Waze, Maps, Spotify, Weather&Radar.

In Waze, nearby gas station locations displayed quickly.

Phone calls - no issues with those.

I was reading through, and I wonder if it didn't split screen due to me using Waze...I'll try using Maps and Spotify instead and see if that splits for me. #thumbsup

Hmmm. ya, that version of Waze you and I installed today is doing the same for me. no coolwalk split screen
people on APKMirror.com are reporting the same.
