Android Auto not always starting?

Has anyone found a reliable fix? It seems that my AA 'skip song' or voice command controls work around every other time I turn the jeep on. I have replaced cables I'm using a Samsung s22+ that is up to date and the new Android Auto that was recently launched has not solved the issue.

AA still works but the steering wheel controls do no not

Has anyone else had the issue where sometimes Android Auto works, and other times it does not? I've tried to reproduce specifically when it does NOT work and I can't find a repeatable situation - it seems random. I have a LG V30+, so it's a new phone... Thoughts??

Check out this thread. I found a solution that works for both Android and Apple.
