In our house, we only buy AmSoil products!!!

Jeep Wrangler JL AMSOIL IS EVERYWHERE!!!!!! 1000016130

It was a limited run, I think it was just this one box!! Let me tell you though, it's delicious, and much more nutritious than normal root beer. Proof you say? It's AmSoil, science is for the non-believers! Just use it and see the difference!!!

I just came home from my buddy’s house next door. We spent all day slinging hot lead downrange; it was glorious!!!

That is, until he pulled this out of a box of others, and gave it to me.

As long as it's gentler than Birchwood Casey's Gun Scrubber, you're golden. That GS is a nasty, nasty solvent that really needs to be tamed, or withdrawn.

James, if you’re careful, carburetor cleaner works REALLY well on extremely carbon-fouled firearms.

I don't know if you know this, but Glocks are actually dishwasher safe. I'm not saying I know this from experience.. :bandit:

It would be key to get an old dishwasher that you can leave in the garage however. Strangely enough there's lots of uses for an old dishwasher that you no longer put dishes in. You wouldn't believe how many different types of parts you can get really clean with different types of cleaning agents with an old dishwasher in your garage.

You gonna weld one (dishwasher) to your front grill?

I think you should go for it. It would fit with the motif you’re working on?! ;):like:

Funny thing... Was delivering beer a week ago out in McKinney Texas, and the Chase Bank out there was next to where we were delivering to, swear to God they had a washing machine out back of their building over by their trash dump.. I made so many money laundering jokes!!! :CWL:

I actually washed many of the parts on my 1976 Harley when I tore it down for new paint job. It worked quite well.
Edit: In the dishwasher, I assembled much of it on the dining room table. I was single in those days, don't understand why,!

To be serious for a moment, this is the GOAT. What we used in the Marines, and what Project Farm found to be the best too.
This stuff cleans, lubricates, AND protects. If I was deploying in the morning, I’d pack this, because it‘s fast and will keep the weapons running.

But Hoppe’s is part of a lifelong ritual of using solvent to clean, before using oil to lubricate and protect. I love this ritual, so I still do it. It’s not as fast, but I’m not in a hurry.

Sounds like a great run and gun product but it's just hard for me to conceive. How does one product act as a solvent and lubricant. How does it clean but not remove the lubricant :whatsgoingon:

Guess I need to take one gun and try it. Can't hurt since I'm just killing paper targets now.

These are good questions. I’m not confident in my answer:

I know the solvent aspect works to clean/clear. In the deployment scenario the rifle is fired, cleared, fondled, and cleaned a lot, so corrosion isn’t a primary concern. And nobody expects a government M4 to last generations. They get used up pretty quickly. It’s not like Grandpa’s 30.06 that’s gonna be confirmed at the range before hunting season, hunted, cleaned, and returned to the gun-safe for another 10 month sit.

Be careful...
Not all Tupperware is dishwasher safe...
