It is crazy. I don't understand how PUP achieves such things with its GTL. Test done by Motor Oil Geek where he puts oils in a machine that chews the life out of them.

Oh yes, pup all the way. You can't go wrong with pup. You really sniffed out some good info here. You're a real bloodhound, a regular houndini, a labracadabrador, a Sherlock bones. 👍😉

I just wish PUP had a higher HTHS and was in thickness closer to 5W-40 than to 5W-20. The lawnmower 2.0T is so much noisier with PUP than with Mobil1 ESP.

You know I’m just going to go ahead and admit that I don’t like PUP. I think in terms of value for the money it’s great, but it’s not a premium oil. It’s “the best” middle class oil out there. I really don’t get on board with its HTHS value. And before folks put me in a specific drawer: I think even less of Amsoil.

Redline and Driven are built-for-purpose oils that have no business inside a Jeep engine so the comparisons are moot to me.

From the result above, I think I will give a try to mobile 1. My priority are on wear protection, torque and heat values. I change my oil every 3k so the rest is not that much of a issue. No I cannot bring myself to go liquid moly

The torque difference on a 3.6 might be 2-3ft/lbs between the best and pup. Never going to feel that.

Then what do you use and recommend. I’m currently trying to decide what to use in my new hemi conversation it’s a 5.7 and they (AMW)fill with Mobil 5w20, used amsoil for years with no problems.

never hurts to try new oil mobil1 is great oil no doubt but 2 or 3 ft/lbs of torq will not be noticeable in a 5000lb vehicle.. if you look at the difference in torq between the top performer and everything else in a V8 making ~470lb it is not that much no more than 4 or 5 ft/lbs so within 1%. The graphs with their color and scaling make it look more pleasing to the eye but just like wear metals there really is no difference.

I do not need much, depending on the weather I can achieve my goal, little more torque wil make it easier for me to achieve

I almost certainly wouldn’t recommend what I use for this type engine. My 2.0T is extremely happy with Mobil1 ESP 5W30. It was also very happy with PUP 5W30, but I didn’t like the valve train chatter due to the lower HTHS. It’s a personal preference, like whether you like dark roast or light roast coffee (shame on you if you like light roast lol).
For the HEMI I’d probably go with PUP.
