This one is for our campers and overlanders. I understand there has not been a dual battery set up as of yet due to the change in under hood space but I wanted to see what others have planned for their set ups.

I would like to eventually have a dual battery setup to run a ARB fridge and some other lighting accessories. Most of my trips will have a max 2-3 day run without vehicle movement. I was also looking into solar power set ups.

Goal zero has some AGM and lithium options that are literally plug and play. Their solar panels are a bit overpriced but the battery packs are tempting. I was looking over my tread lightly letter and realized we also receive a 20% discount on all Goal Zero products. I am thinking about getting the Yeti 400 lithium and a 100 watt panel. Anyone have any experience with these??

I looked at the Goal Zero products, but the capacity and charging time (and price) just aren't there yet, as far as I'm concerned.

Genesis Off-Road just picked up their JL yesterday, according to their facebook page. Hopefully they will have their dual battery kit out soon.

i'm thinking that a dual battery kit with some jerrycans and the alternator charging them for a half hour via engine idle might be a better option. Though I still have to do the math and testing to see if that will work.

How many kilowatt hours of battery can the alternator charge per hour on an AGM dual/marine battery at engine idle speed?

BTW, I also looked into those little portable gas/diesel generators and while they offer a lot of functional benefits, they are soooooooooo effing loud. No way I'm using them given how so effing loud they are.
