Jeep Wrangler JL Alignment Results/LCA’s upload_2019-8-13_16-42-4

I had a RC 2.5” lift (one with springs and shocks) installed on my JLU a few months ago, and the ride has been good, however I am suffering from the typical steering issues related to lifting. It doesn’t track very well, so I’m constantly having to make small adjustments. I commute 45 minutes daily on an interstate going 75, so small steering issues become amplified. I took my Jeep to the dealer where the lift was installed to run an alignment, and the results are in the picture below. From what I’ve gathered through other threads, it looks like my caster is pretty low. The shop quoted me $740 out the door to install Rough Country lower control arms and adjustable track bar (alignment included). How does that price sound? How significant of a difference will I see daily driving? Would the installs be better off done myself, to save money? Any opinions or advice is well appreciated. Thanks y’all.

That sounds kinda expensive, if you’re able to, you should do the work yourself. It’s really not that hard, and if you’re using rc track bar, you can adjust it while it’s installed. The control arms, just measure center to center on your existing arms and make your rc arms 3/8” longer to start. Just be sure they’re exactly the same length. After you put everything on then get an alignment. Should be less than 100.00.

Getting your caster up around 6 seems to help alot. I would shoot for that number. Mine are 6.1 drivers and 6.3 passenger side, can drive it with your pinky and tracks very well.

Do y’all have an opinion of relocation bracket vs new arms? I’m leaning towards installing myself and then taking it for an alignment. Doesn’t seem too difficult.

$740 with the parts? If thats just for labor I would rather get a cheap digital angle finder and get it as close as I could myself and save $720.

Bracket might help some since you’re only up 2.5 inches, but I like the ability to adjust the caster until it drives sweet. And if you decide later to go up another inch you’ll already have the ability to keep up with correct caster.

I should have clarified better — it was $740 including all parts, labor, alignment, and taxes. So total cost. Still considering doing it all myself and paying under $400, even with an alignment.

I think that’s a reasonable price for everything. Plus if there’s a problem, they have to make it right. It would be worth it to me.

That’s a strong point. This shop is actually an extreme off-roading subdivision of my local Jeep dealer, so any work they do (including the lift of mine they already did) is guaranteed to not void warranty.

I did it myself, its not very hard and I would totally recommend it if you like wrenching and have a trq rench.
