It's not how frequently I need the key. It's that if I keep it separate then that's no better than the other Jeep-related keys that I'm currently trying to keep track of. Threedom's fix for that would be to carry both the fob and the key.

A Bolt hood lock plus a Bolt receiver lock would mean that I have a single fob/key in my pocket. But, of course, that's currently a stupidly massive fob/key.
@Ratbert

I hear ya....

A whole other story but I am not pro/ a fan of Bolt hood locks. To easily defeated.

Guys / gals with a Tazer JL are far far better off turning on hood alarm.

The AJT is the WORST Jeep mod I've ever bought. Poorly designed, frustrating to assemble, not worth the time, irritation and effort. Read the comments on AJT's own fob assembly video. Of course, there wouldn't be an AJT if it wasn't for the original Jeep key fob. The decision comes down to whether you would rather have a key stabbing you in the pocket and ripping holes in your trousers or spend hours with popsicle sticks, screwdrivers, tape, varying grips and angles, and swearing, to get the AJT assembled and if you're really lucky, and get it back together, putting up with the PANIC button going off from time to time when you put the AJT in your pocket. ???

I got one of these when they first came out. It was definitely frustrating to assemble, but doable. Ultimately I went back to stock, though.

1) I hate the feel of 3d printed anything. Cheap and flimsy.

2) Using the key to lock the console is a major PITA

I’ve learned to live with being stabbed.

The Threedom looks like a better design, but I can tell from the pictures it’s more 3d printed garbage so no way I’d pay that much $$.

I went back to stock also, with some black gaffer tape to "Stop the Stab".

I haven't had the key open in my pocket since I got this.

I gotta say that I love my Threedom for it’s size and weight.

The only minor gripe I have is the hollow sound it makes when keys and change hit it in my pocket.

Love my Threedom, so light you forget it’s in your pocket. Not sure why Jeep insists on keeping the fob so big and heavy. If someone can break into your Jeep they certainly won’t have any problem popping open the locked glovebox or center console if that’s why you want the key handy. The positive is that you won’t have to replace your dash or console because some loser put a crow bar to the locks.

3d printing is the reason the fob is so light. I don’t have a problem paying for something that works and reduces weight significantly and still feels durable. Once you spend a day without the Jeep brick in your pocket you won’t go back.

I've had both and the AJT is long since been in the trash. The threedom is 10x better.
