Aftermarket hood lock?

Has anyone purchased and installed a Bolt Hoodlock assembly? If so, what are your thoughts on the quality of the locking assembly? Are they of a good quality?

I have a Mopar lock on my 2019 but will be buying the Bolt for my 2018 (wife’s 2022 has the factory front camera so will need a different solution). Had a Bolt hood lock on a couple of my JK’s - they were good quality. Currently have a couple of the Bolt cable locks (one in each of the 2 doors).

N.B. -- You'll need a rivet gun capable of handling the 1/4" rivets provided with the kit.

I put one on my JLU. No issues. Like the fact it uses the factory key. Had to buy a HD rivet tool to install it (got it from HF if I remember right). No big deal - buying new tools is part of the fun. Looks factory.

I have a Bolt hood lock on my Rubicon. It came with the Jeep, but I would not ever not have one after using it. It is simply awesome to have your Jeep’s key and not another one on the keychain.

I have had them since I bought my Jeep. I love it. I dont have to worry about someone poking around under my hood unless I unlock it. There is one bad thing about them. Unlock them when you go to the dealer. apparently the idiot that tried to use the key improperly scratched the shit out of my hood. It was quickly repaired since I always do a walk around with the sales manager prior to service.

Late to the party with my reply but I’m 100% satisfied with BOLT hood lock as well as my Mopar locking gas cap. Both use the door key which makes things absolutely convenient.

Same as the above responses. If you have the OEM front “trail cam” you will have to relocate it. I put mine on the first week of ownership. Used an Astro Pneumatic rivet tool https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0039697ME/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
I was standing on a short step ladder over the hood lock while installing when one of the more stubborn rivets. When it finally broke loose I almost gave myself a black eye

Same as @VKSheridan i also installed the locking gas cap. It’s nice to have as many things as possible use one key.

I just installed mine about a month ago. Seems legit but the key is a little tight to turn. Looks great. The biggest issue I had was tracking down a rivet gun big enough for those rivets as they are big. I hit every big box, Lowes, Home Depot, every hardware store including Harbor Freight and the only place that had a big one was Menards.

I wouldn't fault the Bolt lock for the employee's ham-fisted efforts.

Have the mopar hood lock installed by the dealership on my JLR keyed to the ignition key Works great.

Awesome lock. Pair it with Redline hood struts and as soon as you unlock it the hood goes up by itself. Cool!
