So, I was noodling around in the JScan app while comparing the settings between my Wife’s Jeep and mine and found this.

Hmmm. I don’t have the module and sensors but someone who does could try it out and see if that is the setting to get this to work.

What did you use as a "bypass module" for JScan?

Yeah, think that’s your best bet. If you find a willing dealer, and then if you are technically capable, do all the install yourself, AND they charge a reasonable fee to add sales code and program keys... it might be worth it.

Here’s how long it took me:

Replace tail gate handle, cap, and jumper. 30-45 minutes. Contorting your hand to plug in jumper will be most time consuming.

Each door harness - 2 hours, total 4 hours
Door handles about 15-20 minutes each. Again, contorting your hand to plug in - that could add some time.

AND if you are smart, several hours researching on Tech Authority. If you don’t do the research to see how to diassrmble/reassemble, you may be setting yourself up to break something.
Is the entire door harness needed in a Sahara? or just the jumper?
If so, do you have the part # to the door harness needed?

I ordered one of these, well actually two. I ordered one but it ended up on the boat from China and was very late so i ordered another that shipped from the US.

I know you said you don't have the proximity equipment, so you can't test this - but have you made any other similar changes with JScan? Following this thread with interest for a while now and it seemed that flashing at the dealer made it a dead end, but you've given me new hope!

I've enabled DRLs and enabled the setting to allow my fog lights to remain on with high beams. I used JSCAN with my JK previously. Had to buy a new iPhone (switched from Android) compatible OBD adapter and bypass cable for my JL.

You can change all kinds of things with the app. You can download the app for free and look in the demo mode to get an idea of what it can do. Some don’t work on the JL but it will give you an idea.

Do you have to use that harness that you ordered or will it also work with the Obd elm327?

You need the bypass cables and an OBDII adapter. The adapter connects to the bypass cable, which in turn connects to the Security Gateway Module connectors which are located above the OBDII port in the vehicle. See here:

I got this successfully working on my 2020 Sahara. All credit goes to dctech and rocket scientist.

As they stated earlier in the thread the front door harness and handles need to be replaced and a jumper added to the rear gate.

Once all parts were added I brought it to my local dealership and had the code added and programmed for $90.

Anyone looking to do this I do have an extra harness for the front doors(does not have Blind Spot Monitor).

Jeff, I must admit, being in the same lousy mood we all are over COVID-19, where fears over health, food supply, health care workers, and retirement savings, among many other things occupy my mind and I'm certain those of other forum members, I was all ready to give you my:

"don't add posts to this thread right now unless you've got a proven way to effect this feature after-sale, I'm NOT in the mood!"

So, I'm go happy you had success and reported it to us.:)

Would it be possible for you to explain, like I am a 3 year old, the steps, from soup to nuts one takes in effecting this?

Spare me no detail, from parts required to purchase, and from whom, to assembly techniques, etc. This is the perfect project for me to tackle and still (dealership flashing notwithstanding) keep social distancing at the forefront.

Thank you sir for the good news. I needed this! I think many of us did.
