I want to add a front trail cam to my jeep, probably under the bumper.
Other than supplying power, where does it install to? Easy to do?

Z Automotive makes a good one. It’s sitting on my bench - I haven’t installed it yet.

I installed the Z Auto camera. You have to remove part of the dash trim under the Uconnect in order to plug in the video cable. And a power wire to the battery. Not too difficult.
But the camera picture quality is not great, 480p if I recall. Z Auto does state this on their website. It’s limited by the OEM interface the camera plugs into. Poor picture quality is better than nothing I suppose. You also need a Tazer to enable the “Cargo camera” option in Uconnect.

I'm pretty sure the cargo cam is for Gladiators.
Stock on Gladiators perhaps, but the same interface exists in JLs, it’s just not active. You need the camera kit and a Tazer to enable.

“Cargo Camera” is now a front facing camera. It’s only a 480i camera so image quality is not great.

I had it on my previous jeep, but not my current one. I miss it for sure.

You configure it as a cargo cam instead of a trail cam? That's bizarre.

Carry over software from the ram. They aren't going to write new code if they don't have to.
