Quoted for truth. On modern automotive engines built since about the early 1980’s break in is not that critical. I don’t expect seal or ring problems from driving it 65 instead of 55 in the first few hundred miles. Otherwise these things would be leaking and blowing up right and left because few owners bother even reading break in procedures, much less strictly adhering to them. And should there be any issue, I’ll just follow the often quoted mantra on this forum whenever something is broken on someone’s brand new Jeep, “Just take it back to the dealer and have them fix it. That’s what your warranty is for!”

And it’s not an issue anyway. Anyone who’s driven I-10 between Houston and NOLA knows that it’s 350 miles of nonstop construction zones and traffic jams. Lol.
Lol, yep! That highway is perfect for break-in!

Either way I don’t have the luxury of Sunday driving < 55 mph where I live and drive. It’s going to go faster than 55 in the first 300 miles. But I promise to keep it as reasonable as possible.
Hey, we still need some pics!

Edit...Just saw the pic from page 5. Nice!! I would have ordered Ocean Blue if available when I bought mine. What a nice color!

First pic as I walked up to the dealership. Still completing paperwork but I’ll post more later. I’m so excited that I ain’t even mad about the 2 gallons of greasy tire dressing they used! Lol.

Yep, I struggled with Ocean Blue, Mojito and Punk'n. But I'm a guy that likes black vehicles so I stuck to that. The blue does look very good.

So we put over a hundred miles on her today. My wife drove it home from dinner and was impressed with how it rode. Not as unrefined as she anticipated compared to her Lexus GS350. It took her a bit to get used to the handling though because of the high center of gravity and the body roll through corners compared to the low, great handling F Sport. But she likes it a lot. So do I so far.

750 mile trip tomorrow.

Remember the owner's manual says not to exceed 55 mph for first 300 miles. Why take a chance at messing up your engine/transmission exceeding factory recommendation by going well over that?
Uh-oh... there goes my warranty! :giggle:

Oh oh! I can see those Mopar lawyers rubbing their hands together in anticipation of canceling your warranty. You can claim it was a picture of your Prius.

Congrats! We picked ours up on Friday. Put 1000 on over the weekend. Absolutely in love.

That blue looks fantastic! Glad your wait is finally over and you can enjoy it.

My Rubicon has arrived. 18 weeks order to delivery.

I emailed FCA Mike Manley Dec 28 (Friday) got an email from Mike MacDonald, executive referrals manager 2 days later(Yes—-Sunday!) saying he would research. I received a phone call from him January 4 after they opened up telling me that the jeep was held up due to the addition of the infotainment on the order (their issue) and that it would be released and go to build. Then a few days later he called and said it was on the train and a few days later after that he called and said it was in the Minneapolis area at the Trainyard .

Very good customer service at that end. I’m sure if I hadn’t called it would probably still be in C status. Evidently they called the dealer also, as they were fully aware that I was in conversation with Mike Manley‘s office.

Here is a pic. Getting cleaned and prepped for delivery
