I think they all twist to some degree...just par for the course with the design.Add Fram to the list of twisters.
Thanks!

I believe you 100% as this is how I change my oil. However the system is not sealed 100%. It slowly bleeds down. In a week or so the filter housing is empty.I hear this lack of an anti drain back valve concern a lot.
This is not a real on the 3.6l.
Let me prove it to you.
The next time you change your oil, drain the pan first. Leave the drain plug out. Wait what ever time you wish, and when you want, start to unscrew the oil filter cap for removal. When the vacuum is broken in the filter housing, you will hear the oil from the oil lines going to filter come rushing out and see the oil come rushing out of the “empty“ oil pan drain plug hole.
The OEM filter assemble creates a vacuum effect in the oil
pick up tube that prevents the oil from draining back into the pan.
Additionally, if the is oil in the pan, the vacuum suspended oil in the pick tube will remain there almost indefinitely. This is the exact same grade school science class project as dipping a straw in a tall glass of water. Put your finger over the top of the straw and lift the straw out of the glass. The water will stay suspended in the straw for a very long time. Now if left the bottom tip of the straw in the glass of water, the water would remain in the straw indefinitely.
So I cannot see see any problem or fault with the the OEM existing design.
Try it and see If you doubt me.
I’m not going to test it but I do know after 2-3 days, like over the weekend, I’m more apt to get valvetrain noise. Seems to be the norm.I believe you 100% as this is how I change my oil. However the system is not sealed 100%. It slowly bleeds down. In a week or so the filter housing is empty.
Been using Fram EG for 7 years now, not one time has one ever twisted…have always done my own work….actually this is the first I’ve heard of it….Add Fram to the list of twisters.
Thanks!
