Since all of the weird Christmas Lights on my dash. I found the the steering pump was the culprit. Replaced my Can Buss blocks behind the glove box. The only codes to read are for power steering. I am interested in finding out if there is an upgrade to these pumps. Others have found this problem is part of the new jeep culture. So the system needs to be reinvented.

There is the Apex kit that turns up to pressure and adds a cooler, and PSC has an engine driven pump conversion.

As far as an upgraded, higher flow electric pump, I haven't found anything.

I really like the electric over hydraulic system though, and I would love an upgraded electric pump.

If I was going to replace the power steering pump, id go to a psc setup. Get rid of that God forsaken hydro electric pump and switch to the psc setup. If mine goes out, that's what I'm doing. Get it with their steering box and remove the JL factory garbage. I've had so many steering issues. Got the pull fixed, made a ton of improvements with the apex setup, ss track bar and sector shaft brace, and a through shaft stabilizer, but that garbage steering box and pump are still there causing little annoyances. And that whine, sounds lije I have rc car steering servos when I turn the wheel back and forth.

If you upgrade, so the psc! If you dont have big tires you probably dont need the ram setup.

I think I will check that out. I have already purchased a rebuilt pump. They say a rebuilt is better than then the factory. So who knows right.

Over 3000 for the upgrade. That pretty steep for a pump and some hoses. I like the idea. But the price seems pretty high.
