Your review is dead on regarding this BAD base radio. Although, I am perfectly happy with the sound of the base system it is the interface that is just horrible.

Wow, I'd put that person on ignore.. Some people are just rude jackwagons and go into melt down mode if you dare to say anything negative about Jeep.I guess ive touched a nerve since i received a threatening pm from RHINEBECK01 aka bill. What a dbag.
"Unlike you I was wise enough to go with the Infotainment Center. Was obvious to me at ordering time that was the best bet.
In regard to you. I suggest you stop posting your friggin crapola about how you got $500 back. There are those that will eventually get a firmware fix that will get their radio up to speed lets say.
They don't need some nitwit/ you repeatedly posting in their face over and over that the radio they spent lots of $ on, is a piece of chitt of whatever negative comment you constantly throw out there.
You took chump change($500) back from FCA. Now you are stuck with that radio.
In closing, get off the bandwagon AH. People want to come here and learn about the Jeep they always wanted, etc.. They don't need the likes of you playing with their head. Let them enjoy their JL.
Bill"
None of us, regardless of what radio we got with our jl should have to wait months for it to work correctly. I would have done the same for the 7 or 8inch radios if i had one that was programmed with bad firmware.
Great...Btw heard from jeep wave/cares that the next radio firmware update is to be released in quarter 3...or about october. We are stuck with malfunctions till then. Told them about last weeks update making radios worse.
Yeah I added the dude (RHINEBECK01) to my ignore list as well. He doesn't really offer much other than trying to sound smarter than everyone else, put downs and snide remarks. Not much substance to his postings either.. Meh, most Jeep owners are friendly and helpful but every now and then one of these types come along. Best to just ignore these types and move on to the awesome, friendly and helpful Jeep owners! Also thanks for posting the big internet tough guy's private message. I can add him to the ignore list seeing he lost all credibility on this forum.
But the aftermarket will NOT fit in the dash!! Already tried that. Even if you cut the air vents behind the dash, a aftermarket radio will not fit.Now you have $500 to spend on a very nice aftermarket!
