He definitely was racing lol. I’m probably like 5.3 seconds to 60 with doors off and near empty fuel, which means he was like 5.0-5.1 to 60. Pretty sure nobody casually leaves a redlight and does 0-60 mph in 5 seconds.

Was he not racing in the sense of he didn’t brake torque it, yeah. But he definitely had the same idea as me.
Probably was racing.... at half throttle...

If you're in 4auto and you torque brake aggressively, the 4xe launches like a beast. This also fires up the engine in any mode. With TC off and 4auto, my Rubi breaks free on dry pavement from a standstill.

So I think you might 60' a 392, due to the electric motors assisting the 2.0 to get into the power band. But after that, the 392 would blow right by.

This thread is as useful as one comparing the rock crawling capability of my Porsche GT3RS.
nobody buys an extra $30k on purchase price and an extra $200/month in fuel for a 392 if they don’t care about on road acceleration. It’s not like the v8 is going to crawl you over a rock better than a v6.

The sole purpose of the 392 is so you aren’t bored out of your mind when you’re on pavement.

Because 3/4 of the 392 owners probably only visit the 392 section. Most of them would probably find it an interesting story.

On my other sports car forums, there are “kills” sections dedicated to these stories.

I don’t even care who responds, just informing people of interesting data
I wouldn't call 1 example "data" or at least not useable data. No video, no witness backing you up so no way to verify this actually happened somewhere other than your miind

Yeah so there are plenty of timeslips to back up the acceleration similarities at lower speeds.

actually, I bought mine because it made me giggle when I cranked it. Not because it’s fast -because it isn’t. Maybe fast for a Jeep, but certainly not fast.

It is very visceral though. Which is why you tingle when you drive it.

Ok, not sure why you responded to me with “actually….” and then go on to say you bought it for the exact reason I said 392 owners buy the 392 instead of the v6 or 2.0t

obviously nobody spends $80k on a vehicle that traps 103mph in the quarter for sheer speed

you said (effectively) “people buy it for speed”. I said I bought it without ever driving it, due to the visceral nature of it.

funny how internet folks assume how other people spend, or should spend, their money. I spent an xtra 25k over my loaded JLURD because it’s cool and fun. Had nothing to do with speed. Just also happens to be quick for a jeep

What on earth are you talking about? It’s the exact same freaking vehicle with a way more powerful engine and it costs way more money. Why the hell else would you buy a wrangler 392?

Lol at “visceral” adjective
