Anyone buy & install level 2 charger at home for their Wrangler 4xe? Which one you buy? Where? How much? Feedback?

When I had my 4xe I bought a used Grizzle Avalanche ($300, I think?) and it’s been working well for us - charged the Jeep while we had it, our old Volvo XC T8, our current Lexus RZ300 and handful of friends/family cars with no issue.
It’s installed inside the garage, but since no car really fits in there the charging always occurs outdoors (with a cord extender) and weather has never been a problem.

I bought a dumb charger as I didn’t need the WiFi connectivity. I have had those before and spent $800+
This time I bought a regular level 2 and it’s been great I was covered by my electric company in a rebate

I second the Grizzl-e. Been using it for 3 years now daily charging both our Mach-E and the 4xe. I bought the ā€œdumbā€ version without any fancy bells and whistles.

I bought a JuiceBox40 on Amazon. 4xe only needs the Juicebox32 but the price was the same at the time. I’ve only been using it for 6-7 weeks but no issues so far.

I have the Jeep branded Juicebox 32 because it was the best price I could find for a name brand charger in '21. There seem to be more and cheaper good quality chargers available now. Stay away from Mustart if they're still around.

I also have a "dumb" Grizzl-E that I installed, been working great for about 2 years on both 4xes.

I got the smart Grizzl-E and with the cost of the installation, was able to deduct $1000 off of my taxes.

I got the charger straight from them for around $300. Read lots of great reviews here.

I would NOT get the smart charger. I got it thinking it would be neat to track how much I have been charging, etc. It isn't a mystery, BUT the frustrating thing is, if the charger loses wifi it simply will not charge and it won't start back up if it loses and then regains connectivity. I ended up having to get an extension node from my ISP to increase the coverage in the garage. If I knew it was going to be so flaky with wi-fi access, I wouldn't have bought the smart version.

Get the dumb version and you should be good to go - outside of that issue, the charger has been great.

I like my Lectron 32amp as it is completely portable, so no need to hard wire it anywhere. Comes ready to plug into any NEMA 14-50 outlet, but I always use it with an adapter converting it to NEMA 10-30 outlets, as that is what my house is wired for. Since I only charge 4xe about once a week, I just unplug hot water heater, charge Jeep, then back to hot water 2.5 hrs later. Best price I've found is Lectron direct, as they are even cheaper than Amazon at
$238:

Here to second the Grizzl-e. Been using one for 8 months and it's been great. I don't really care about any of the charging metrics so the dumb version has worked perfectly.

just ordered a Lectron from Best Buy.

my wife works for CBP so shes familiar with UL ratings and counterfeits etc... as i learned from her yesterday, the cord, and the unit itself, have separate UL ratings, (or ETL). the cord can be certified but not the unit itself. just fyi. though it can be quite difficult to find this information out while shopping.

we definitely wanted to get one that is certified after the last one practically melted while connected and damaged the connection port. and we bought that one at costco, thought they no longer carry it...

this is the one we just bought

we dont need bluetooth or wifi or lane departure or anything, just more shit to stop working lol. the van itself can be programmed when to charge.

I've been using a Lectron for 3 years with zero issues - charging outside in the elements and all.
