Well, that changes my post a bit. I thought he meant the F150 Raptor because I didn't read all the words.Think he’s talking about the Bronco Raptor.
i see it different. But I think people at sea level have a different experience then I do. I started leaving my JKUR at home because it was so under powered and struggled To not overheat. It was 34s on 4.10s. My wife refused to drive it, said it was too underpowered to be safe on the highway here. $35k was what I was quoted to do a 5.7 hemi swap. No brainer to trade for the 392. And the 392 is just about right certainly not even close to too much. The way I see it, V8 Wrangler is not something you switch into to have a better offroader, if you already have a Wrangler. Takes less money to make your curent one better off road. It's something you buy because you want V8 sound and acceleration. Its ment to be more of a badass Jeep on the road offering very minimal ofroad improvement.
I may be in the minority, but loud engines, roars and rumbles, etc, are a last century sound. The louder, the slower, so it’s more about nostalgia for the driver perhaps but to others it just sounds like a last century technology. Like flat heads in the 90’s.A
A 6 can be made loud, but can never replace the rumble and roar of a V8!!!
Well- I am an old guy who spent his formative years in NHRA pits in the early to mid 60’s with an older cousin who raced an Altered. Today you can buy a car that is quicker, but even with them I miss the sound of a big cam. On flatheads, the blatt-blatt of my 1940 80” flathead Harley sounds much better than the modern ones ( one of the several bikes, cars, Jeeps & a PU That if I only knew what they would be worth today) still have one- Dads CJ3AI may be in the minority, but loud engines, roars and rumbles, etc, are a last century sound. Personal preference for quiet engines is one thing, but "the louder, the slower"? The quickest wrangler ever made, that will out 0-60 most sports cars is also the loudest wrangler ever made. That's not opinion, it's measurable fact.I may be in the minority, but loud engines, roars and rumbles, etc, are a last century sound. Electric cars are quick but they lack character and soul. Too appliance like. For the driver, they are fun, but from a spectator perspective, they are boring even if faster than an ICE counterpart.I’m just generalizing about the average loud car these days.
The noise is unnecessary and mostly for show a lot of the time. Some use the noise to make up for a lack of speed. The fastest cars I’ve been in lately have been pretty quiet. Porsches, Teslas, etc.
