Just dont get a truck, they make no sense. Just like people taking about them here, as you are clearly deciding between Bronco and Wrangler.

The way I see it, V8 Wrangler is not something you switch into to have a better offroader, if you already have a Wrangler. Takes less money to make your curent one better off road. It's something you buy because you want V8 sound and acceleration. Its ment to be more of a badass Jeep on the road offering very minimal ofroad improvement.

Raptor on the other hand was built purposely as high speed offroader.

Are you just looking for bad ass vehicle or one that will be used to trash around off road? Rubicon XR price is more sensible for its purpose and capabilities.

i see it different. But I think people at sea level have a different experience then I do. I started leaving my JKUR at home because it was so under powered and struggled To not overheat. It was 34s on 4.10s. My wife refused to drive it, said it was too underpowered to be safe on the highway here. $35k was what I was quoted to do a 5.7 hemi swap. No brainer to trade for the 392. And the 392 is just about right certainly not even close to too much.

A 6 can be made loud, but can never replace the rumble and roar of a V8!!!
I may be in the minority, but loud engines, roars and rumbles, etc, are a last century sound. The louder, the slower, so it’s more about nostalgia for the driver perhaps but to others it just sounds like a last century technology. Like flat heads in the 90’s.

doesnt matter what msrp is. How much can you buy a 392 for? Will you even be able to get a bronco raptor over the next two years. I’m betting with the horrible release of the regular bronco, the raptor won’t be much better, stock will be super low, and the price will skyrocket. Get a 392 and enjoy.

Well- I am an old guy who spent his formative years in NHRA pits in the early to mid 60’s with an older cousin who raced an Altered. Today you can buy a car that is quicker, but even with them I miss the sound of a big cam. On flatheads, the blatt-blatt of my 1940 80” flathead Harley sounds much better than the modern ones ( one of the several bikes, cars, Jeeps & a PU That if I only knew what they would be worth today) still have one- Dads CJ3A

To each their own regarding sound. I get that some people don't like the rumble produced from some of the loud vehicles. I am on the opposite side of that fence though. I do like the louder exhaust & engines. It could be nostalgia like @Spartan99 said. But as more electric vehicles arrive the more I like the louder vehicles. Just my opinion though.

I just read this https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/n...mera-to-catch-loud-cars/ar-AAUbkoh?li=BBnb7Kz. Glad I am in Georgia.

I considered ordering a Bronco when they were first announced but ultimately ordered a 392 given the V8 and I’m partial to Jeeps. The rest of my family thinks the Bronco is better looking (I don’t disagree) and a bit cooler (less common than a Jeep although becoming pretty popular). My 9 year old daughter reminds me all the time that she wants a Bronco when she gets her license…
The Raptor option at least makes the Bronco a consideration for me as I won’t buy slow, underpowered vehicles no matter how cool they look. It’s still not a V8, but it’s better. And apparently cheaper than a 392.

Difficult to compare 392 to B-Raptor even price wise. There is just no matching a 6.4L to a 3.0L. Period.

Personal preference for quiet engines is one thing, but "the louder, the slower"? The quickest wrangler ever made, that will out 0-60 most sports cars is also the loudest wrangler ever made. That's not opinion, it's measurable fact.
As far as the op's question, the Bronco raptor will be the better commuter hands down. The 392 will be the better rock crawler. Either one can do both tasks well. It comes down to personal preference.

I’m just generalizing about the average loud car these days.
The noise is unnecessary and mostly for show a lot of the time. Some use the noise to make up for a lack of speed. The fastest cars I’ve been in lately have been pretty quiet. Porsches, Teslas, etc.

Electric cars are quick but they lack character and soul. Too appliance like. For the driver, they are fun, but from a spectator perspective, they are boring even if faster than an ICE counterpart.

Fast electric cars are kind of like watching a action movie fight on mute.

I love electric cars but can admit their lack of sound makes them soulless. There is something about a well tuned engine and that grumble that is exciting. There are youtube videos of nothing but exotics and tuned cars cold starting and revving.... it will be hard for electric to replace that feeling.
