I seem to get around 13mpg. I'm sure I could get 17 if I wanted to, but that's not why I bought this. I'm also on 37's with 4.56 gears
How do you like your gears? I’m currently on 35s and stock gears, but thinking of going to 4.56 in case I bump up to 37s at some point.

Just finished a road trip. PA to OC MD. 2 people & 120 lbs of gear. Total distance 442 miles (201 X 2 miles highway). 40 city miles (around town). From home to OC we made an indicated 18.7 mpg. +/- 65 mph avg using cruise control most of the time and clear sailing. We kept speeds < 10 mph over posted speed limits. Very few WOT events. Before leaving for home we checked the mpg and it had dropped to 15.2. We did have a bit of fun in town during our 3 1/2 day stay. Absolutely love the sound of the 392.
Upon arriving back home yesterday our fuel mileage average for the entire trip was 16.5. Traffic was surprisingly light for a Sunday. I am extremely satisfied with the results. Two and a half ton 4X4 muscle car w a .50Cd............not bad IMHO.
Hope you find this useful.

Best,
Bret.

Somewhere between 1,400-1,500 miles on my 392 XR stock, SOT (mostly open). I’m getting 12.8-13 MPG. My 3.6 gladiator gets 14 MPG. I’m actually impressed with the gas mileage the 392 XR gets, I don’t drive like a grandmother either. If I drive like a Neanderthal I’m sure I’d get less, but probably wouldn’t have my license very long. Im almost never on the highway, but I’ve learned that Jeeps don’t actually get better MPG on the highway due to horrendous aerodynamics.

I have around 1,200 miles on mine and I average between 12-12.4 mpg. Pretty much all city driving. (392XR stock 35’s)

I get 12 mpg average. But I'm fully built on 1 tons, 40s, and 4.88 gears. Not that I bought or built it for mileage anyways

I just did a 520 mile road trip in the 392 XR (stock 4.56 gears, stock 35" tires). This included 480 miles with the cruise control set at 83 mph on the interstate, and 20 miles of city driving. The trip was 250 miles each way and 20 miles of city driving in the middle. On the way there I had no wind and I got 15.8 mpg. While there, a big storm moved in, and it started snowing hard. We outran the storm within 50 miles but had to drive into a very strong headwind the whole rest of the way home. The wind noise was so bad in the Jeep that it sounded like you were in the middle of a hurricane, and the wind blew the Jeep all over the road. The trip home was horrible. Overall gas mileage for the trip was 13.6 mpg.

Thinking back, I have had a number of horribly under powered TJs and JKs that didn't get this good of gas mileage. I'm ok with the gas mileage of my 392

Going to be doing a 1,300 mile road trip in the next couple weeks. Will be interesting to see what it gets. My old JK got 18mpg on this trek while my wife’s 4XER managed 20

I wish I had a 392 so I could complain more about gas mileage.
Sorry guys, had to do it. I really am jealous of those that have a 392!

I just did a trip from Chicago to Atlanta. About 750 miles each way. 15.5-16mpg doing 75-80+ most of the way with ACC use. I've gotten up to 17-18 on country roads doing 50-60 for an extended period.

However, my daily driving average around Chicago is about 9 mpg. This is real "city" driving, not suburban strip mall driving. Pretty much stop N go every two blocks or so, hardly ever getting above 40mph. In suburban areas, I usually average around 12ish.
