An update for the group. I spent the day on fire roads and double track. According to the onboard fuel economy, I’m got 8.1 MPG. None of it was serious rock crawling, just mild Ozark hills. Only went into 4LO in one spot.
This is on 35s.

I’m really not liking the 4CYL mode. There’s no way it’s doing any good for MPG. It’s constantly engaging and disengaging, even in off road + mode. It sounds goofy and the constant engaging/disengaging can’t be good for the system.

Oh, the first couple pin stripes hurt. But now I feel free to really use the Jeep instead of trying to coddle it :CWL:

I have no experience with MDS but if it sucks I will get the delete kit.
8.1 is pretty good for off road.

MDS off road without it being turned off or defeated WOULD be ridiculous. It’s worthwhile if your lumbering along on the hwy though. Well, 35’s or bigger would probably negate it altogether and actually make it a negative range factor.

I’ve been running 13.6-13.8 MPG since I put my 35x12.5x20 wheel/tire combo, almost all city, with a medium foot on the throttle.

These numbers are what I get with my 2014 3.6L, 6 speed on Micky Thompson 37"s with a "3"" lift.

I see a hemi Jeep in my future once Jeep stops forcing all the high end content on each build. Fingers crossed for 2022 and being able to build it my way.

First fill 15.7 mpg, little more where highway 60h/40c
2nd fill 15.2 mpg, romped on the throttle way more though 50h/50c
3rd fill 14.7 mpg, 30 miles were offroad 50h/20c/30off
*filling up at half tank, non-ethanol 92 octane only, even the first fill, I didn't let them fill it.

Please list MPG over total miles, percentage spent on highway/city/offroad, size of tires and if you’ve calibrated your speedometer for the tire size

I’m at 13.3 MPG over first 1000 miles
60% highway/40% city/0% Offroad
On 37s and calibrated for 37s

Seems like it’s trending down lol

I'm betting that the fun factor of the 392 is causing some people to get lower mileage. It's hard to keep your foot out of it for sure.

I bet that if you reset the indicator and drove like a responsible adult with a light foot, the numbers would be quite a bit higher.

But if you're going to drive like that, why on earth would you buy a 392?

650 total miles, 100% city. 10.2 MPG, BUT I'm having fun showing it off...
First fill 15.7 mpg, little more where highway 60h/40c
2nd fill 15.2 mpg, romped on the throttle way more though 50h/50c

Tire size?? Calibrated for tire?

I have no additional heavy add-ons other than the heavier original Mopar beadlocks, the Mopar Performance rock rails which are marginally heavier than stock and a metalcloak rear diff skid (maybe 20-25lbs).

Broke it in as per the manual so there were some good few miles where I was pretty easy on the throttle, then not so much and lot of idling and f'ing around on the last tank. I'm positive it could get better if I were to drive it normal but that's not quite why I got the 392 :). Damn non-ethanol averages about 80 cents more a gallon too.

Didn't include in original post of mine, still stock weight and tires. Tazer is on deck for when ever I can make my mind up on tires.

I'm thinking putting in a standard Rubi T/C to improve mileage by a fair amount. Full time 4 wheel drive has to be eating a few MPG's.
Quoting myself here. No need. Just seen the Tazer thread about taking it to 2 wheel drive. That alone should improve a lot for on road MPGs.
