Rims too light... I experienced this first hand by experimentation. Big heavy tires with feather light alloy 25lbs~ wheels= bad. Weight closer to the hub helps with momentum more and more as you go up in tire size. Feather light wheels + 75lbs~ tires = piss poor performance. Again, my first hand experience. 33lb-36lb wheels are a good place to be, plus a good alignment with toe in.

God I just noticed im replying on a post thats 4 years old.

@BDinTX @Blueliner3

Why is this my experience then? Prove me wrong. IME heavy 35s and 37s with light weight wheels does not function well at all. They lug like a tractor down the road

In no way am I saying that regearing isn't needed or not a game changer. But I have direct experience experimenting with different wheel and tire combos and this is what I gathered?

Maybe the Jeep computers learn driving styles and operate differently in these circumstances depending if we are limping from point A to point B or highway cruising for long periods for example?

Again prove me wrong or educate me.

This weekend took a trip with some other Jeepers to Hidden Falls in central Texas. I have 2 door, 2.0L, and BF Goodrich KO2. Handled flawlessly

I don’t have an opinion on your theory, just laughing at your last sentence ^

I tried my 37” Mickey Thompson BB M/T on our 2.0 eTorque with 4.10 gears. From a stop it seemed to pull just fine but on the freeway I felt like it was working harder than it should. No data to back that up, just my butt dyno.

I’ve toyed with the idea of swapping those axles onto my ecodiesel since it’s got 3.73, and regearing those to 4.56 and putting them on the 2.0.

OR I could just leave them both as is and not fk with it.

That’s a solid idea. I’m looking at a 2022 eco diesel rubicon to buy possibly at the moment and I was gonna swap axles with my 2.0 rubicon with the 4.10s
