Last two tanks I am at 13.5 with stock Rubicon tires. I must be driving wrong around town or something. It's got me on the edge from going up to 35s right now.

My 02 XJ Super got better mileage.

Wow, my stock 33’s on my Rubi have averaged 20.5 over 2500 miles. Mostly highway and rural roads.

I got 14.3 on a highway trip this week on 35's.

But I also haven't calibrated my speedo
So yr data is useless. Why even mention?

Wouldn't larger tires increase highway fuel mileage, but decrease city fuel mileage?

I just think it’s hilarious we are talking about fuel mileage in Jeeps, let alone ones with 35 or 37’s. :cwl:

I'm only on my 2nd tank of gas. I was 17.8 mpg on my first tank with a mix of city/hwy miles and so far on this second tank, I'm running 17.3 mpg on mostly hwy but its been very windy. That's about the same mileage pick-up. By the end of next week, I'll have a lift and 35s on my Rubi so we'll see what happens after that.

Every JEEP I have owned and lifted and put 35's or 37's the mileage took a hit.. then I added bumpers lights and took another hit on MPG .. Gotta pay to play ;)

Has anyone else seen an mpg INCREASE after going from 35’s to 37’s while still running STOCK 4:10’s? I’m trying to figure out what sorcery has been cast on my Wrangler that has increased my city mpg 1-2 mpg and my highway 2-3 mpg. I was expecting the opposite. I even regularly see 8th gear just as much as I did on 35’s. I have a Tazer JL Mini, and I have recalibrated my tire size. My speedometer is spot on with GPS and another vehicle.

I’m not complaining! I’m just curious if anyone else has experienced this phenomenon.

I’m baffled!‍♂

I was at about 14.5MPG on 35s. Went to 37s about a month and a half ago and I'm at 11.4MPG... Mostly city driving. Im not very heavy on the pedal.. Not sure how some of you get such good MPG. Also, I don't care because its the best car I've ever owned

I took a 1.5 mpg hit after installing stubby/winch and 2-6.5" lights... For those of you throwing out numbers without recalibrating your speedo, your jeep doesn't know how many miles you traveled so mpg will be off. And no, you cant use any 33/35 math.

19.0 mpg = 1900 miles over 100 gal
if you didn't recalibrate and get 16mpg, you need to back into the true math

16.0 - Non calibrated would actually be
1600 miles plus 7% for added circumference (Stock rubi vs true 35") so 1712 miles actually travelled (jeep uses tire rotations x diatmeter of stock tires I think)
ie 17.1 mpg

Because math and shi*
