I did the update last weekend to Uconnect using "UCONNECT_8.4_IR21.10_MY18JL_VP4R_USA.zip" got the black screen last night. Shut The Jeep off, let it sit for an hour, tried again, nothing. This morning it was fine. Go figure. (Gremlins) . On a side note, this shows some pretty terrible software...
I turn my own wrenches when I have the time, if it requires a lift I would go to Globex or ok4wd. Not many shops I trust with my Jeeps. I will ask around for NYC based shops for you though.
Same here. Bought my Jeep in March of 18 and never got the OTA push. I tried working with Jeep Customer Service to have them send it, took about 2 months and it never came. They promised a download and then changed their minds and said to go to a dealer. Since the dealer can't even change my oil...
I actually used a PC laptop to format the USB Stick to FAT32, it should work with Fat32 just fine. I had a MAC OSX Multi-boot install stick with 3 versions of OSX and had to use the: "Diskpart" in Windows 10 command to wipe them.
Glad it worked out for you! You don't know how many hours I have lost over the years tooling around with linux, windows, forensics and other "bootable" USB utilities. Each have their own magic you need to sprinkle just right else you want to take a hammer to everything!
Service bulletin says that no additional updates (I read into that as any files) can be on the USB flash drive. TBH that program is useless and I would delete it and give it a shot if your upgrade is failing. I am pretty sure you can grab it off sandisk's website anyway. Side note: If you are...
I used a MAC, first try didn't work then I realized when unzipping it created a top-level folder which is why The Jeep did not see the update when I inserted the USB Drive. The instructions state you should have two folders at the top-level: 1) map_package 2) VP4R_Update . If they are nested...
ORP..... heh, stumbled upon this thread and had to laugh. Bought my Rubicon a year ago this month and still don't have them. I emailed Jeep after I bought my wife a MOAB and she had them and I still had yet to get them via OTA update. Well, that spun up a 2 month back and forth email chain which...
Just a quick post. I had a chance to take my wife's MOAB for a long drive to pick up my daughter at college the other night. It drove well on the MT2s. It tracked well, was only a bit louder then my 2018 Rubicon with KO2s (that has 8K miles) and once again confirmed that I love driving Jeeps! :)...
We have a JL with KO2s and a MOAB with the KMs. The KMs are louder for sure. Wife doesn't care, she likes the whole MOAB package. I plan to eventually get around to putting on the KM3s on my JL but am not in a rush. I am guessing FCA didn't go with KM3s because the size wasn't available yet...
My wife kept saying she didn't want to drive my white JL because she was afraid something bad would happen to it. I knew it was just a ploy all along! She wanted her own blacked out MOAB. She asked me yesterday, "Are boxes going to start showing again for mine now?" (says to self, "doesn't need...
Black, she insisted on black. "Black out all the things!", she said. Which is what justified me going for the MOAB package vs getting a Sport S and upgrading things myself. It's pretty much done for her now and she adores it. Outside of giving birth, I have never seen her so happy.
