OK I know I have asked this question before. It's going to get warm here sooner or later and I wan to get my JLU ready. It has 2.5 Tera flex spacer lift. I want to put 35s or 37's on the stock 17/7.5 black rims. Can this be done without putting on spacers, and without changing my rims. I have no plans of off-roading so articulation is not a big concern for me. However, I do not want any rubbing when turning. Has anyone done this successfuly? Pics would be great.

the sport axles will if the lower control arm with 35's if you do not install a spacer or better backspaced rim.

I just had a Rock Krawler 2.5” Max Travel kit installed with 37’s on the stock wheels and the shop that did the install said that the tires rubbed on the rear upper control arms without the spacers.

Can you post some pics of your jeep. Also, what size spacers did you use.

Sure thing. I went with the Synergy 1.75” spacers. Wanted less, but the studs on the JL’s are longer and the 1 5/8” spacers won’t work. I’m very happy with how everything turned out.

Was it possible to go narrower on the spacers? I'm not a big fan of the tires sticking out so far past the fenders, so if I can get a narrower set I should be good.

No, the studs on the hubs stick out too far for thinner spacers (the spacer has to be thick enough to cover the factory studs to be able to mount the wheels on top of them).

I'm not sure about your wheels or the snowflake Rubicon wheels, but the optional black wheels with polished lips have hollowed out pockets on the back of the wheel flange. Without measuring the exact depth, I'd think a 1.25" spacer could be used and the pockets would clear the protruding length of the studs without touching. That would minimize the poke. I'm getting new wheels and tires mounted and balanced this friday, so I could measure those pockets when they're loose.

Do you have an issue with airing down of those for trails with the wide tire on the narrow rim? I was thinking of adding 35’s to my wheels cause I like them a lot (MOAB Wheels) but wasn’t sure how that would go.

I haven’t tried airing them down yet, but there are several others that are running them without issues that I’ve heard of. Kinda like a poor man’s bead lock.

Dude that would be great if you could let me know.
