The secret to high mileage vehicles is changing the oil frequently, it is not rocket science. Listening to the contradicting BITOG trolls will guarantee you one thing, you will blow your engine. Same goes to other crooks online like the Motor Oil Geek, he wants to make things complicated and hook you up to UOAs and VOAs because he has an oil analysis company and wants your oil sample 4 times a year. No thank you, one UOA can get me two jugs of oil

Only 1% of them, 99% are trolls. Make a thread and say I just bought a 2025 Toyota Prius, what oil should I use. They will tell you HPL Supercar 0w40 😅 And the rest of the trolls join and gang up on you if you disagree. And then the head of the trolls the moderators will start sending you threatening messages. It's one shitty forum.
You need thicker skin. Your experience absolutely does not match mine or others who have been on that forum for years.

People are just stupid you know. The guy buys a Prius and goes to BITOG for oil suggestion. I mean dude, run the oil on the cap and the Prius will give you 500,000 miles. Ask any Uber driver or taxi driver at Seattle airport.

Before Jeep, I had a 2022 Toyota 4Runner. The thing has the reputation of being thermonuclear bomb proof. I didn't even think about oil and what the hell oil does. I needed more flax 💪 so bought the Jeep. And some people talk crap about the Pentastar and Jeep so that made me nervous and I started learning about oil. But now I have confidence in my Jeep, 16,000 miles and going solid 💪 so I'm not going to worry anymore and I'm going to ignore the negative opinions about the Pentastar. Jeeps can be solid too.

Does this mean you'll stop bumping 2+ year old dead threads with comments about nonsense?

You say this and yet you have several posts with lab reports asking about running different oils with different viscosities. You also posted before this that you will run 0W-20 for 3 months then 5w-30. The oil cap doesn't say to run 5W-30. Should I elaborate more, or are you getting where I'm going with this? Let's not forget you asking if you can put a 5,000 pound Jeep in the back of a 3/4 ton truck.

HPL is snake oil made by tree shade blenders and promoted by BITOG mafia. Mobil 1 and Pennzoil are the best and they are household names, they have a big reputation to protect. Tree shade blenders have nothing to lose.
And Exxon Mobil supplies the base oil to many of the blenders and Infineum supplies the additive packs to many. Exxon Mobil is part owner of Infineum, with Shell. So why bring in a middle man with a fraction of the resources of Exxon Mobil or Shell Oil? Chevron is another biggie that makes their own base oils and additives.

I do think Amsoil is outstanding oil, but why pay so much for it when I've never worn out an engine with Mobil 1 at a fraction of the price?

LOL - only their entire business if they produce an inferior product. The marketplace has a way of self-correcting for poor quality and false claims. It is highly doubtful that HPL has operated in that manner for over a decade as they were formed in 2012. The big names you mentioned would have no issue suing HPL into non-existence and reducing the competition.

Nobody knows HPL except the BITOG mafia. The big names don't have HPL on their radar, they have bigger fish to fry.

Right. If you care about your engine give it Mobil 1 or Pennzoil, their quality is consistant and they are available evwrywhere. Mobil 1 probably sells more oil in a day than Amsoil does in a decade.

So, what is your point (if you even have one)?
Stay away from small shady brands that are promoted by shady people. Big brands have decades of reputation that they fiercely protect. You will not find crap in a Mobil 1 jug unlike HPL.

There are several You Tube videos on the testing the various oils and the oil additives and what it means today. The videos are produced by Lake Speed Jr., the son of NASCAR fame Lake Speed, and Lake Jr. actually works for Total Seal Piston Rings.

The testing procedures and the respective results explained in the videos are very interesting.

With all the discussion going on in this forum on this subject, I recommend viewing the videos. Although, Chevron and Mobil 1 are good oils and the fact that I never have been a Pennzoil fan, I may rethink my position on using Pennzoil.

In one of the videos it was explained why the manufactures are trending towards thinner synthetic oils.
