What is the total height it adds? Rhino-rack with pioneer platform standard feel adds 3.5 in, quick disconnect feet adds 4.8 in. Stopped looking at Maximus since it complicates removal of hard top, but maybe need to reconsider. Looks great.
I’m getting 2.5” measured off one of the raised rails on the roof and 3” measured from one of the flats in-between. If you’re using a power tool, the 8 bolts and rack can be removed in 5 minutes. If you want the rear brackets out of the way for top-off driving, they come off in another 20 seconds with single bolts each.

Alright folks, this won’t be the last hair-raising project on my 3.0, but it might have been the most. The idea of drilling 8 holes through a $4500 painted roof for my @Maximus-3 rhino rack mount had me fairly concerned since picking up the rig a few weeks ago. There is a steep monetary and time-invested price to pay for a 900+ lb load rating that looks this clean, but it’s absolutely worth it. Between the pioneer platform assembly, satellite antenna relocation, bracket alignment, drilling, mounting, and roll bar reassembly, this is a two day project especially if you’re the type of person who adjusts down to 1/32nd” tolerances as I tend to. It also requires at least one other reasonably strong person for a few steps. If anyone is planning on taking the plunge with this thing, do PM me, because I devised a drilling alignment method that’s significantly more fool-proof than the directions and will save you time by measuring less.

I love the look of the Rhino Rack. Definitely on my list of things to do :like:

I want to install a 2-3” lift kit on my JLRUD once I get my mitts on it so I can put on 35’s. But they’re heavy rigs and I’m not sure what that does to my options if anything at all.

Any suggestions?

Is the MOPAR 2.5” lift kit any good? Sounds like they had issues a couple years ago, but the worked the bows out?
I spoke with Dennis Collins of Collins brother Jeeps and he said they were good and he installs them. He was supposed to be checking on one for the diesel...there is a Mopar part number but nothing in stock yet. He said it should just be a spring load change because of the 400 lbs of additional engine weight.

Wonder if that rate is at the negotiated price or at full price? That seems like an insanely good deal.
67 Design for my Phone, iPad mount coming.

I got a 0% from GM in 2007 and they would NOT offer any discount at all...so it wouldn't surprise me to tell you the truth. But give this virus and how bad the market will be for awhile it can't hurt to ask and see what they will do.

Installed the gladiator grill inserts in hopes of providing better cooling. Remains to be seen if it will work, but for $32 it was worth taking a chance.

for those interested, the part numbers are attached.

How can you tell if it's working?

Good question. Ideally, I would have data for towing during the summer months with the stock grill inserts to compare to towing data with the gladiator inserts. But I guess I’ll just be keeping an eye on temps and compare to other information posted in the months to come.

But above all, I think it just looks cooler (pun intended).

Were you able to install with the winch on there? Looks great!

Had to take off the control pack on the top of the winch. There are 4 Allen bolts on the outside of the control pack that you can remove while in place and it allows you to move the control pack to get room to remove the grill. Very simple
