2nd time overfill

Not sure if I’m imagining this. But today I was filling up from almost empty. Had about 20 miles range showing. And I reached around 15.8 gallons and it was till going. And I stopped it This happened about 2 weeks ago at the 76
Has this happened to anyone ?

Every vaporlock functions a tiny bit differently. And if it's pumping really slow, I've had them not register at all.

Some it's just positioning of the actual pump, too far or not too far enough in the neck.

Also the hotter out it is the more vapor/more readily it should stop.

Im not sure I see the problem, doesn't your tank hold 18+ gallons ?
Based on what you said, you had two more gallons to go before full.... am I missing something ?

That was my thought as well. Tank capacity is 18.5 gallons. With the hose between the filler neck and the tank as well as the whole fuel system between the tank and the engine you can probably fit 20 gallons or more.

If I let my tank get down below 1/8 full I can get 17-18 gallons in easy.

Even if I fill up at 1/4 tank I can hit 15 gallons most of the time.

Remember diesel will “foam” when being pumped. Let it settle a minute and it’ll take more , “liquid” vs “foam”

Maybe he is talking about DEF. That's only a 5 gallon tank and then you would have 10 gallons on the ground. ?

The Wrangler has always underestimated the amount of gas you have. I've got the 3.6 and can run my needle to E and still have 3-4 gallons left.

HAHA, I was just f'in around. Quite at work on a Friday afternoon. I need to find entertainment somewhere.

I wish the Jeep would be more accurate with mileage and or gallons left. Nothing like getting getting the message that you have 10 miles left. Fill up and only get 15.5 gallons in. Like no you dumb Jeep, I have 66 miles left (figuring 22 mpg).
