Are these new crash panel provisions actually necessary other than meeting a safety standard? Structurally necessary?

I’d like to just discard them, just another place to collect mud and debris.

They prevented the Wrangler from rolling in the recent crash test. The probability of you having a collision like the crash test and rolling because you took them off are slim to none. That said, because they are an added safety item, by removing them, if you are in an accident, it rolls, and your passenger is injured from the roll and wants to sue you (assuming they discover the parts have been removed), they have some leverage.

That’s valid. I guess I’ll have to tell friends and passengers to F’off and ride separate!

Unbolted and cut off remainder on my 2025, 2026 has even more junk under there, thankfully it's mostly an unbolt and remove affair. Gave the chunks of steel to neighbor who does scrapping.

No issues with removing safety-related things unless you foolishly post about it on social media and a victim's lawyers find it. Fortunately nobody here would ever do something like that!

They are meant to be removed by the owner, just like the tags on a mattress. Definitely want to take them off, immediately or your Jeep will start on fire, probably.

Just take them off them. Just have to be careful what you pick and how they mount up. Or wait till someone redesigns to fit around them or be 26’ compatible.

I too have White Knuckle. BUT... they were on my 21' JL. I took them off planning to bolt them up and they did not. Well, technically, it was just the passenger side. The new bracket Stellantis added prevents you from using the front bracket. I just had them welded on. Problem solved.

Figured if I get 7+ years out of sliders that it pretty good. The next Jeep I get will be a new model likely anyways so they wouldn't work anyway.

I have that option in mind, but from what I can tell, 21 4Xe and normal 2.0 is little different. After many attempts to get an answer from White Knucles, all I got is, it need to be modified. their "customer support" has lot to be desired for.

I have to find a fabrication shop that works on off-road vehicles. can you share any pics of the weld points
? if you have them handy, no rush. Putting a rock slider is way down my mod list

Yeah, their customer service is not great. I initially reached out and was trying to get the rear brackets for the third spot where it bolts through the frame on each side. I submitted online, then called and texted a couple times and nada. Then just decided to weld them up. I figured it’s just as good or better than the brackets and likely lowers cost. I paid $50. I’ll upload some pics tomorrow.
