2026 Wrangler Adaptive cruise control protector

Hey JL enthusiasts!

I just changed my 2024 JL for a new 2026.

Jeep changed the configuration if the adaptive cruise control camera/sensor on the windshield area.

Contrary to my 2024 Wrangler, my 2026 did not come with a plastic protector as my 2024 did…???? If I fold down my windshield, I would like to have an OEM cover to protect the camera/sensors.

Any of you are in this same situation? Did Jeep produced a new cover part? The square shape 2024 cover does not fit on new 2026 Wrangler.

In the owner manual they recommend to out a protective cap when we fold down the windshield. But what is that part? Anybody have the part number or a photo?

The easy solution is to never fold down your windshield. In the JL folding it down doesn't make sense anyway since the frame stays in-place.

Is this a "I've never used it before, and I have no clue why I'd ever use it, but just in case!" type of question? Just wondering since it's extremely rare for people to actually drop their windshields.

The annoying part is the folding windshield was never a feature to be used for fun, it enabled the original jeeps to fit in shipping containers for transport to WW2! Please jeep do away with it next gen its useless

That's true. That said, in previous generations, the windshield folding down is a next level open-air experience because the entire frame folds down. The view is like being in a roller coaster.

With the JL however, since the frame doesn't go away, the only experience is "no glass", which I agree, useless.

When hunting, you never know when you may find a 6 pointer in your view, and getting out of your jeep could make it run before you have a chance to fully stop.

Haha. Unfortunately you still have to stop and it's only legal in Virginia to hunt from a stationary automobile if you are a disabled person. If you are disabled, lowering the windshield of a Wrangler isn't easy to do. Better options are to roll down the window or get your meat at the grocery store.

While official fitment guides may not be fully updated to explicitly list the 2026 model year yet, the 2026 Wrangler is a continuation of the current JL generation. Because the 2026 model year only received a mid-cycle refresh (primarily focusing on interior tech upgrades and minor exterior styling changes), it is highly likely that this module cover will still fit perfectly.

I also have a '26 Rubicon and was wondering the same. I've ran trails with the windshield folded on every one of my previous Jeeps and will do with this one as well! (I get it, some of you don't see the point and will never try it - that's cool! nobody in this thread is making you).

I went ahead and ordered the 56029828AA part that lists as working through 2025 models - I figure they haven't updated the listing - has anyone confirmed for sure that it doesn't work on the 26? As soon as the weather gets better I will see if it works on mine and post the results. I predict it will be fine. If it doesn't, I'll either return it or lose $20.

OP is saying that there is a change in the 2026 design and the previous design doesn't fit.
