I went with the Banks Ram Air and MBRP 2.5" 304 Stainless, Cat Back Single Rear Exit. Engine is breathing easy from both ends and nothing to drag on a drop-off except the trailer hitch... I can hear the throttle butterfly pop open with a rush of air yet the intake system is rather quiet. I'm very pleased with engine performance, jumping off the line from a stop light and merging on the freeway. 2020 JLUR 3.6 Manual Trans.

I remember when I was 16 and telling my dad I was going to install a CAI on my car (used maxima); he asked me why. I replied with the standard marketing, “increases HP/torque/and mileage”. “If that were true, don’t you think the manufacturer would have added one by default? It’s cheap, makes it look better on paper to the owner, and helps satisfy the EPA.” Fast forward to today when Jeep already jumped through hoops to satisfy EPA mandates, and I just don’t buy that it does anything to increase mileage. No comment on performance gains.

Is your Banks CAI intake too loud where it's annoying on long trips? I've been looking at the banks CAI, however I'm worried about the intake droning...

IMO there is no performance gain in adding a Hi Flo air filter or a CAI system.
The current map you have running is only going to let in the amount of air the computer is asking for. that's it! The best advantage of a Hi Flo or CIA filter is you can wash them and reuse them.

Wait for it....mic drop!

500$ worth arguing. We're all just giving feed back. Your defending something you haven't bought.

Hence the concealed filter. Buy a better filter NOT oiled and call it good. OE filters are just as good.

Next the oil catch can debate

I had a CAI once in all of the vehicles I've owned. It was in a used 2001 Mustang Cobra and it was in it already from the previous owner. Had a nice exhaust upgrade too (no idea what it was...lol)

It was ok, but never saw the need to add one in later vehicles, high performance or not.

I always considered those types of mods were meant for high performance vehicles for people who were trying to eek out every bit of extra power out of their stock motor without adding a super charger or nitrous system or something ?

I have Mopars real CAI. If you have a Rubicon with the fake hood vents that many find desirable. Look for someone that wants a Rubi hood and willing to give you $500. I and the Sahara owner couldn't be happier.

I'm just curious, would this be considered a CAI?

If you are planning on the Mopar snorkel, then get the factory installed CAI. Sort of made for each other- Since the hood cut-out kit does NOT come with the factory installed version, when you get the snorkel- it requires a cut-out then attaches to the same air box. If you are not planning on the snorkel, then either the factory installed version or aftermarket Mopar version is fine, just remember that the factory installed one does NOT come with the cut-out kit nor the cool little trim piece.

"not worth arguing" you said, Haha, but you can't stop arguing it seems.
You do not have a Mopar CAI. You made the claim it doesn't work without providing any test results. Then deflected unto me to prove Mopar's performance gain claim. I have no need to prove or disprove Mopar's claim. I accept it as advertised. Seems folks arguing against Mopar's CAI claim have nothing to back up the claims. No dyno test, just arguments without backup. Burden of proof is on the accuser to provide evidence. Ask Mopar for test results if you don't believe, don't deflect onto me that I need proof.
Lastly, Post #8, I bought it and installed it 2 years ago. I have never made any claims about it postitive or negative, other than I like it and it will be one of those rare factory option items, maybe:like:
Your sum sour dough lol
