I got the same update and went down the Google rabbit hole. The only info I could find was "direct shift gearbox" which ( from what I could gather) is an automatic transmission with dual clutches in place of a torque converter. They usually have the option to manually shift gears up and down.

Well...yes, I placed an MT order on 12/30. Then I started to get cold feet when this recall hit, so my dealer put in a second order for the same build with an automatic.
Still hoping they come up with a proper fix for this clutch issue because I really prefer the manual. But nice to have a backup plan.

The DSG status came up on the automatic order....so thats interesting that your MT order had this code.

Yeah, these newbies......I went 4 months between getting a VIN and being scheduled with no contact other than a tracker, which just showed other orders flying past mine.

Ordered a Willys 2 door MT in mid Dec. thought, I am keeping it mostly stock below the body. Tires, wheels shocks, good enough. I have had 3 or for lifted modified already. After the shut down Feb 17, it took me back to early 2020. Ordered a Sahara. Set to be built. COVID’s! Plant shut down. Bought a Tacoma. So this time, did some cruising on the Kijiji for near new used 2 door manual. .I will build one I thought. Then, by the grace of god, I saw the only used 2 door newest manual in Western Canada. Sold! Full load Rubicon, steel bumpers full LED, trailer , cold weather 8.4. And a Jeep dealer BDS lift. And extended warranty. Order canceled, 35’s went on the next day, rims go in for gloss black powder coat next week and proper running boards. Im outta here!

Don't misconstrue what I wrote as being negative towards others whose orders go much faster, I'm happy for everyone having their order filled.

The biggest issues for me in this long period are seeing my trade quote drop 20% (so far, I expect it drops more) and having to go through the "should I cancel and re-order?" for both the 20A and 2024.

This is my status for a Sahara 2023. Does "Scheduled" mean all the "parts" are available and a production date is set and we cannot see the production date ?

Unless Stellantis has changed their automatic transmissions for 2023 , the Jeep automatics have the ability to switch over to manual shifting by moving the shift lever to the left. Sort of a must when wheeling off road..

Yes, and your Jeep will hit the assembly floor on 3/18. Expect that plus inspection to take about 2 weeks
