Hey! Correction, I'm not whining about not getting my Jeep, I'm complaining about not having a VIN! There is a difference! ??
I know you had said your dealership basically told you "don't call us, we'll call you", but have you tried their online Chat if they have one? Sometimes they'll just forward you to a salesman but sometimes not. Also, I'm assuming you've tried Jeep Chat as well?

At some point, though, you might need to leave a few footprints on your dealer's back as you go over their head to a general manager. A VIN should be something they can provide in a timely manner. At this point it really only shows that they have a record of the vehicle with the options you've selected even if Jeep doesn't recognize it yet.

Oh, the last time I spoke to them about my order, I actually called the general manager.... He told me to be patient, that Canadian orders are 2nd priority, as Canada orders roughly equal orders made in California, but I should be able to expect a September build... knowing what I do know of timelines from VIN to being built, and it being this far into the month, I'm guessing that is highly unlikely.

As for their website chat, you are correct, they do indeed just forward me to a salesmen. Jeep Chat is of no use because I have a Canadian order. I moved from BX (which I got when I received my VON when I walked out of the dealer) to C status a couple of weeks ago. Still no VIN.

I walked in briefly last week to get some numbers for extended warranty (which were numbers that had my eyebrows disappearing into my hairline....). My guy gave me zero updates. No "same old, same old" or anything. I did make sure to in my own sugar sweet way tell him I figured the September build was bullshit on my way out the door.

Hmm... that is a pickle, my friend. Yeah, at this point the September build doesn't seem likely, but I will say there are some folks for whom the various trackers didn't keep up with their progress at all who got surprised when their Jeep was suddenly built and/or delivered. So, I wouldn't say it's completely out of the realm of possibility.

As for your dealership, that sucks that you're already at the GM with no recourse. For me, my dealer (whom I've bought from multiple times) wasn't replying to emails so I used the dealership chat and ended up leaving a message for the sales manager. He responded quickly... initially... and said not to hesitate to contact him if I needed an update. Since then, when I reached out for info he kicked it back down to my original dealer again... :) The last message I received was to check in again on or around the 15th. So... I'll e-mail Thursday and see if there's anything new.?

Yup, it sucks even more because the guy I got stuck with knows next to nothing about jeeps. He's a newb who started maybe a month or two before I went in to make my order. Had never even taken a custom order before and needed the managers help to be able to place it, as he didn't know the process at all. What's even more sad is that when I said to him I wanted a JLUR he looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. It was a very good thing I knew exactly what I wanted and had researched things pretty well in advance because he would have been completely helpless in helping me pick out any options for ordering..... not to mention the dealer had zero MY23 pamphlets or order sheets on hand for me to look over. So there was that too. The GM wasn't much better as when I asked if order banks were open for Earl (wasn't sure cause I had heard "late availability" thrown around for it, and no one was entirely sure about Canadian orders) he didn't even know about Earl or Reign. ??‍♀??‍♀??‍♀

I mean, I might have gone over to the other dealer two doors down had I known there was this much ineptitude. Though when I test drove a 6 speed 2 door a couple of years ago, the guy from the dealer quite literally was backseat driving by telling me when to shift..... ??‍♀??‍♀??‍♀

The trackers pull data from Jeep servers, so they likely haven't updated yet. Also, the trackers have never been all that great at updating. I'd call/email/text your dealer to get the most up to date and accurate status, and confirm your VIN
Thank you

Day 96. I have a VON and VIN. A big, beautiful VIN. But no D1.

96 days and still stuck in "D"??? Any word from your dealer as to why?

BTW I was a watching videos on that other Jeep site... ya' know... the one that rhymes with "layawife"... Anywho, the video I watched was about bringing home a new 2018 Wrangler Rubicon for the first time. Apparently it took 99 days from order to delivery then... which seemed like an eternity to the narrator. :)

I recently learned why round these here parts it's the site that-not-be-named. Kinda silly to me, but whatever. I enjoy the content and have learned a few things watching those videos.

Also, 99 days?? ??? Knee slapper right there!!!

Copied & pasted from what I was told. It wasn't much of an answer tbh. You'd have to ask a member who has been around since early days to find more details.

Earlier in jlforum days there was some controversy between the denizens of jlwranglerforum and the-site-that-must-not-be-named, and some brigading and other violations of good netiquette

Interesting. I had assumed it was a rivalry between site owners, parent companies, etc. but apparently we plebeians caused the ruckus...

I agree though that some of their videos are informative and a nice way to live vicariously through somebody who can drive their Jeep...

I find their build/mod videos to be very accessible and make me, person with zero mechanical/automotive skills think.... Huh, I could do that! ?

Never cared much for watching people's overlanding / rock crawling adventures though tbh.
