Probably a dumb question, but - I own a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Willys Sport 2D w/3.6 Liter. When it comes time to change the rear differential lubricant, how do I identify whether or not I have the rear differential that requires the friction modifier additive (Trac-Lok Limited Slip)? I looked at my window sticker, but couldn't find any additional information.

Thank You in advance for any information you have to share!

If you paste this link and add your vin to the end, directly after the = , it will pull your specific build sheet. Scroll down and under 'Optional Equipment" you should see something like this if you have the Limited Slip rear diff. That would be the one that needs the friction modifier.

Thank you so much for this information. This is the section of my Build Sheet, and it lists the Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle just like yours. So my guess is that I do not have the Limited Slip version.

It looks like you DO have the limited slip rear diff. I don't know why they call it something different than the marketing materials but they do. If you didn't have the limited slip diff it would say 'conventional diff' or 'e-locker' somewhere on the build sheet.

That example I posted is not my vehicle, it was a VIN I found that did have the limited slip shown.

Thank You for the clarification and explanation! I appreciate your help! I figured I would purchase rear differential fluid with the friction modifier regardless, because it wouldn't hurt anything by adding it the conventional differential, and I would definitely be on the safe side!
