And Jeep has done it again. I am absolutely baffled. They actually changed the codes for a bunch of items (mostly standard stuff, not options). There were a bunch of codes that had a letter P at the end and were 4 letters. Everyone of those now no longer has the P. Just a very strange data change out of nowhere. Won't impact anyone, but I just shake my head wondering WTF is goign on over there.

Also noticed low update numbers today. Very low. 25. Usually it's closer to 80-100, especially on a Wednesday. But there could be another update. That has happened before too.
My obsession thanks you

Hey guys! I've been trying not to focus on this whole comparison/tracking ordeal lately. It's been a journey thus far but figured I'd throw updated info since it may help others.
My dealership's GM emailed me this morning that I am in F(paint) as of today. However, everything else indicates that I am still D1. So to all the delayed folks and JLs/Manuals in particular, there's movement for @ least one of us in the back of the line. I hope you guys get something similar soon (or already have).
JL/Manual Willys here too. I moved to D1 on the tracker last week. On Monday I reached out to my dealer to see if I had a build date - he said it is in final now and should be here by the end of the month. At first I thought the dealer was just feeding me a line, but your post gives me hope!

I know this may be odd coming from me, but Jeep needs to kill the tracker and the access to tracker data and just put the updating on the dealers. And then if they truly want us to have tracking, go do it right.

If I had to guess, Jeep started to get more custom orders, the buyers reached out to their dealers enough for the dealers to complain. Jeep responded by hastily building a half-assed solution to appease their dealer network, not one driven by thinking of the end user first, and in the process screwed the whole thing up.
Your second para sums up their modus operandi perfectly.

Wondering how many here placed a factory order for the first time in their life. Most buyers used to pick vehicles off the lot and received instant gratification. They are now forced to wait for their Jeep, unless they’re willing to pay over sticker, travel further, to buy a vehicle that hardly matches their needs/wants.

Supply shortages are an old problem in the car manufacturing industry. However, the duration of shortages have never been longer than in recent years; we all know why.

As stated previously, manufacturers have never had that many Sold-Orders to deal with, nor are many dealers on top of communications with the zone rep/plant and customer.

Wow! That was ages ago… I hope you see more activity on your order soon!

Dealer said 4-6 months when I ordered, so at least my expectations were set. I already had one order cancelled on me beginning of this year, but that was for a 2022 trailhawk w/ v8. That order was kicked out several months after being placed due to no more v8 engines being allocated. At least I have a VIN this time…
Thank you! This has been painful. My dealer told me I was looking at maybe 3 months of waiting, but that has come and gone. I was told my production date was supposed to be somewhere around 10/7, but that didn't happen either. I can't get any more info from my dealer, he says he has no idea, and another dealer told me that no more diesel orders will be accepted after this month. I can't get anywhere with JeepCares.... so, I'm worried.

This is my second time ordering a Jeep, for the same reason. I couldn't find what I wanted, mainly manual with half doors. The last time (2011) there was no official Jeep tracker. BUT, the data that the dealers consumed to keep track of the order was an unprotected URL. You just needed the VIN I believe. So guess what I did...

Saw on another forum that someone was told while ordering that Firecracker Red and Hydro Blue are restricted and cannot be ordered currently. Hope that doesn't mean they won't build the ones they already took orders on. I would hope they have the capacity to plan correctly, but then again they can barely manage basic data so...
Take this for what it's worth (if anything) but when I ordered my dealer told me the 2.0L engine was on restriction. According to him, that did not mean they will not build it, otherwise it would not have let him order. He said that just means it may take longer. Hoping that is true (and maybe not true on the longer portion - ha!).

I’m on my 9th custom order in the last 11 years, trust me when I say it wasn’t any easier when lead times were 4-5 weeks! You learn to live by milestones not daily updates.

D1
Build sheet appears
Window sticker appears
When it is built and waiting transport
When it is finally in transit (this is the agonizing one)

Nowadays I tell the dealer not to bother me until it’s built. Once it’s built then I know the clock is ticking and any preparations need to be made now. Cleaning up the current vehicle, starting the sales process for it, etc. I’ve made the mistake of selling my vehicle twice before the new one was even built. One resulted in me renting a car for a month, and the other resulted in the dealer loaning me a used car for three weeks.

In todays environment, I’ll be happy if I get the Jeep I ordered November 4th by Spring. It’s all about managing expectations.

The latest order guides list three colors as ‘temporarily unavailable’. Fire Cracker Red, Hydro Blue and Granite Crystal Gray.
Confirmed orders should be built regardless.

Well it seems like a long time I know that there has people waiting longer. I’m in this for the long haul. After waiting 50 years what’s another 3-4 months. I was just wondering if any of the options will hold up things longer? I ordered tow/ both safety/ cold weather/ side steps/ mats/ and gribs. 50 years ago I could jump in now I need just a little help. Just a little. I’m just still excited and will be until I see her?

Man, you just missed the early 4xe rush. Those things seemed to be cruising through the process in days to weeks instead of months. I still bet you get it before year end to get you the incentives.

for the purposes of planning ahead. If your jeep doesn't have any accessories to install (slow it down), and there is no damage on the line. What is the typical time to build a jeep?

Edit for clarity: I worded my post poorly. I meant, once the vehicle begins being built, as in, it's on the line, it's been painted. Like how long do these typically take to get down the assembly line.

...you may want to hold off on any financing decisions. Noone has the answers but there is a large population here that are 3-5 months into this waiting game.
