Ordered a JLU Willys for my wife because a) she's wanted one for as long as I've known her, b) she's awesome and c) she has worked her ass off to do a mid-life career change, including getting second bachelor's to become an ER nurse, so she 100% deserves it. I was originally going to get a new car for myself but couldn't figure out what I wanted to replace my Renegade, so I decided this was a good time to get her a Wrangler and I'll take her Murano for a bit until I figure out what I really want.

6MT (I mentioned, she's awesome, right?) and probably overkill on the options but I think it'll be amazeballs when we get it. I wish Bikini Pearl had been an available color because that was her favorite, but I'm hoping Reign looks as amazing in person as reported.

I also really hopes she'll let me drive it once in a while :CWL:

I just checked my paperwork from Mark Dodge. It says they reserve the right to increase the price if the MSRP increases. The paperwork also states it’s not actually a binding contract as well. And I also gave them a $1k non-refundable deposit, so I’m out that if I were to walk. That’s all kind of messed up.

They could decide to increase it by $1M and then just say “well thanks for your $1k. Let us know if you’d like to give us another nonrefundable deposit for a contract that says we can do whatever we want.”

ok, I’m being facetious here. Hopefully they wouldn’t actually do any of this. But it does bother me how they basically gave themselves an “anything goes” card.
Your post prompted me to go back and look at my paper work. My % below dealer invoice will be based on invoice at time of sale. Oh well. It is what it is. Better than $10K over MSRP highway robbery that was going on for ones on the lots, and I got to have it exactly how like, even though I think it'll arrive somewhere around the time the build and price tool for the 2024s comes out.

I'm not a lawyer, but I'd think that you should be able to get your deposit back if the price changes before delivery and you decide to walk, since the initial agreement has changed through no fault of your own.

Hopefully most dealers are smart enough to select price protection when ordering, and I'm guessing the few that don't honor their quoted price with a deposit are likely trying to make some extra cash from the situation.

Anyone placing a new order should always ask if the deal is price protected and if so, get it in writing and if not, keep shopping.

Unfortunately, the document says I only get my deposit back if the vehicle is delivered with more than $1k of shipping damage or if it was optioned incorrectly. It doesn’t say anything about a price change. They seemed to have covered their bases. I just never thought that the MSRP can change in the middle of the year (or within 2 months for that matter). The extra $1.5k isn’t going to deter me from going through with the deal, but I can still complain about it! The fact that I don’t like is that they could literally change the deal to whatever they want. They state no stipulations on what I would pay. They just said that if the MSRP changes, then they can change their price….period. Don’t like it? Then lose your $1k.

As I mentioned before, Mark Dodge didn’t actually physically say this to me, but their legal paperwork entitles them to it.

Unfortunately, there are some who have been waiting even longer and are still at Order Confirmed.

I just got off the phone with my dealership's GM. He pleasantly assured me that, although it wasn't specified on the POC, he will gladly honor the original price.
That said, we have a regular communication and I ordered in mid July. If your order is from early-to-mid September...they may not be as understanding. Particularly if you only bring this issue up on the day of the sale.

Build times are all over the place. A few have seen their Jeeps built in less than a month. Others have been waiting since July or even earlier and haven't seen any movement. Me personally... I ordered July 15 and just went to Scheduled last week.

Yeah, there's no telling. I'm almost 80 days in w/o any progress, there's a guy whose at almost 100 days, and one poor guy who's sitting @ ≈120 days. Don't compare, it could get rough.

Man this sounds like hell. And here I'm feeling impatient because it took several days for the dealer to get confirmation the order was accepted (this past Friday).

We're still waiting on a VON for said order, which makes me wonder how hectic things are there.

A few others have mentioned price increases in the 1400-1500 range. If you've got a POC from the dealer, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If they're smart they will honor the price they originally gave you, knowing you'll drag their name over the internet if they don't... :) I certainly will if that happens to me.
Dealer told me that mine is price locked along with my '20 JLU Sport trade-in value as of my order date in July

I would talk to them about it now. I put down a deposit and have a signed agreement on price.
My dealer confirmed a $1400 price increase in my order, BUT also confirmed that they will honor the original deal pricing. I feel better :)
