I’ve had my VIN from my dealer but I don’t want to go back and ask for the build date so I’m just sitting back hoping it’s sooner than later!

My guess would be that other then making you feel really good or bad, depending on the status that you should probably expect to wait 8 weeks minimum from the time the order was placed and factoring in the backup of Jeep at the start of production. If you are lucky that could include the best case shipping time. It sucks, but it is a fact of the state of the economy and parts availablility. And probably expect additional time for an XR or 392. Hopefully the new MY will be kinder than the last model year. Hang in there, it will be worth it...

Hey everyone! I'm new here and to the Jeep world. I'm not sure what all the codes and everyone are for, but I'll try my best. lol

According to my POC, I'm getting a JLJL72. Not sure what that means, but it's:
2 door Willys
Earl clear coat
Black Interior
3.6 V6
8 speed
Hard Top
Cold weather group
Convenience group

Ordered - 7/30
VON - 7/30
VIN - 8/19
D1 Status - 8/19

My dealer makes me feel like I’m a peasant he doesn’t want to deal with. Like he was all enthusiastic when he went through the order with me but now it’s like he doesn’t want to be bothered and takes forever to respond to my emails. Do you think it’s because it’s a direct order and not off the lot so maybe there’s no commission???

That's the experience I had with my 2022 order. It was built January 5th and didn't arrive until some time in April. The dealer I had wouldn't do anything. He wouldn't look into it. He wouldn't give me updates. He acted like I was being a nuisance for asking and would send snarky remarks and give me BS excuses. I finally gave up and bought another one from a dealer that was literally a few miles down the road from him. Good luck with yours. Hopefully you didn't order from the same place I ordered my 22.

Does anyone know if I can get my VIN without having to get it from the dealer?

I know it sounds a bit crazy, but I have no idea what’s up with them. The person I ordered with was the GM who replied when I filled out the contact form on the website. He gave me a price and got someone to place the order and collect my deposit

Since then… nothing. I called at one point to check and they mentioned they had emailed me, but I didn’t get it (and it’s just a gmail address… nothing where corporate filtering might have got it). I called back to ask them to change to a different email address… and nothing. Everyone they send me to who can update my info goes to voicemail. I tried emailing the sales manager and no response. It’s been a bit baffling to say the least, as we have had such minimal contact… at this point I just want to get a vin so I can plug all my info into crypto stickers and no longer need them for updates. I do at least have a VON, but my understanding is that the pizza tracker isn’t great…

It’s funny that you posted this because I literally posted the same thing this morning and somebody else told me don’t go to the sales person but go to the actual like company customer service or the operator at the company so I went on their website and did their customer service chat and they gave me my Vin number and my status code I’m not up for being built yet but at least I have a vin now.

They'll usually give you a current estimate, but they rarely guarantee that since the value could diminish quite a bit by the time the Jeep arrives.

That’s exactly what they did with me.

Jeep Chat should be able to give you your VIN.

Today I received the email: "Your Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has started the assembly process": 2023 JLUR Diesel

Order configuration is in the signature. I don't recall seeing any Diesels in the order status yet, but may have missed a post or two (only 163 pages to this thread!)

Here are my dates so you can compare to yours and estimate progress:
Ordered: 6/15
Scheduled: 7/6
Production: was originally 8/19, then changed to 8/22 (on 8/10)
