bought this jeep last week of december. Went in the shop january 9th 2023 and it been there ever since. They get another part every two weeks but nothing is getting it fixed. First engine light comes on I'm out of town. I check oil and temp everything is good so i drive it home. Next day I drive it to the dealer, about two blocks out i loose heating and sterio. Park it out side quick lube and ask the boss if he can pull a code for me he says yes. Took five times to get it to start and then i have no power steering. He puts new battery in it and i make it around the building and battery light on again, so i leave it there. Jeeps says no buy back and i have bought three in the past 14 months. 14 in the last 10 years and they still say no buy back. You would think they would want to keep a good customer but they truely don't care about that at all. Started searching the web and found I am not the only person with this defective system. Also find Tennessee state lemon law on the states web site which states if the owner has not been able to use the jeep for 30 days a full refund is required by the manufacture. I sent the TN law to the rep last night. First problem it would not start when i bought it, it had been on the lot along time. Then the dealership violated federal law during the purchase, i never sat down with finance person, did not go over interest, payments, total amount of interest for the life of the loan and total pay back when paid off, and when they handed me the keys it was a 2022 not a 2023. Try to trade it in on a model without e torque they offered me $12,000 less than i paid for it three weeks before as trade in. North Knox Jeep are very dishonest with it seems untrained mechanics. I have owned over 300 jeeps, I'm 64 years old and my dad was the jeep dealer in harlan ky from 1950 till 1984. But guess what I am thinking toyota or chev might be the answer in the future. Or find me a good used jku stick shift.

So you’re 64 years old, owned over 300 Jeeps and still managed to buy one without looking over the paperwork before signing?

edit: Damn! thats a new Jeep less than every 9 weeks! Have you ever had an oil change done??

Welcome to the forum.

Please search the forum for “batteries” and “electrical problems” and read to your heart’s content. You will find thousands of posts on what to do. Honestly, I am tired of posting the same thing over and over several times a day.

Bottom line is: don’t count on your dealer to fix this. Jeep dealers are the most incompetent lot. No exaggeration.

Or, if you prefer, just keep taking it in to the dealership. After a dozen or so dealer visits, and a half dozen times getting stranded on the side of the road, you should qualify for a buyback.

Good luck.

What was the code that the dealer pulled when the engine light was on?

Jeep is saying that now because you don't have enough problems entered on the system.

But as the dealer remains unable to fix the Jeep and you continue taking the Jeep back to the dealer, there will be enough material to initiate buyback proceedings.

You need to cool it, though. If you go in there demanding a buyback from day one, both the dealer and Stellantis are going to get the impression that you are not acting in good faith. And you don't want that. No matter how frustrating the entire experience is.

I call BS. You didn't sign a contract or any other paperwork before driving the vehicle off the lot? You just blindly drove off with the vehicle without any proof that you purchased it? What about when you needed to get the insurance binder for the sale? The VIN you provided would have told your insurance company if it was a '22 or '23.

My wife just purchased a new vehicle last week and every step of the way we knew exactly what we were buying. We had a VIN and window sticker verifying the model year. We had a copy of the state inspection receipt, again with the model year and VIN. We had to provide our insurance company the model year, make, VIN, etc. I just can't image you didn't know that you were purchasing a '22 model vs. a '23. I also find it very difficult to believe you had no other paperwork indicating model year and payment info, etc. Again, did you not sign anything?

If indeed you drove off with a vehicle you were not expecting nor any paperwork with payment info, etc., it is no one's fault but your own for not doing your own due diligence.

What he is saying is you are full of BS. 300 Jeeps in your lifetime??!! You are 64, if you started owning Jeeps when you were 16 you would have 48 years of owning Jeeps which means you owned 6 Jeeps EVERY YEAR FOR 48 YEARS... ummmhhhmmm....

Yeah, unfortunately the number of visits counts more than the number of days.

If the Jeep has been there for two months due to "supply issues," it still counts as one visit on their system.

The bottom line is Jeep dealers are known to be incompetent, greedy and indifferent. They prioritize work that the customers pay for over warranty work because they can get more money. Which means your Jeep just sits on a corner for weeks on end without anyone giving it attention. Worse, the longer your Jeep sits at the dealership, the greater the chances it will get damaged, dented, scratched, etc.

If you really want to solve the electrical issues, the best thing to do is to take the vehicle back and troubleshoot it yourself.

If I can troubleshoot my Wrangler's electrical gremlins, anyone can. The fixes are actually not that complicated.
