Seriously though, don't be so quick to dismiss tires being a big part of the cause, and if you have the factory track bar come back to us when you dont

Hello, as I am asking for help, I will try to be specific and provide facts only. I truly appreciate any assistance, I am not new to jeeps but I have yes, I exhausted my own methods to trying to diagnose this.

my wife’s 2022 wrangler unlimited rubicon 2.0 sarge green with a small mopar lift and 37” nitto recon grappler tires. I have non adjustable get teraflex lower control arms and a fox thru shaft stab.
This was all done at zero miles. (Besides the tires which have 4k miles on them. )

the jeep now has 19k miles.
Weeks ago, I noticed a shimmy. I then took it in for an alignment locally. They aligned it and the shimmy was less however still there. They said my new tires were wearing bad but so new it shouldn’t be that. They checked torque on everything and I went home.
two weeks later the shimmy was back. Swapped the tires around, checked alignment again and didn’t go away. Checked for loose components like I have on my many other wranglers I’ve had and it felt okay.
today the jeep at 40mph drove my wife off the road.
I limped it home one mile without wobble and checked everything. Took it out and the only way to avoid actually bad death wobble pulling you off the road is to get above 45mhp quickly before it grabs you.
I am selling it in may and I am asking for the help of a trusted shop or mechanic to diagnose and help me fix this this week. I don’t want to spend a huge amount, but I want it fixed for summer and can obviously pay what’s needed. Again, thank you . Please only helpful responses, I’m not going to just start buying parts or ripping it all apart myself. Thank you.
Mine had the wobble and I put dual steering stabilizer shocks on. Problem solved.

Had a set of BFG Mudders that would damn near throw you out of the jeep, replaced them with ATs on the same wheels and never had the wobble again. Put 80K miles on it after changing tires and no other components and steering was just like when new.

I also think if there are miles already on the tires from another vehicle, that could be a major issue. Did they go in exact wheel, you know LR,RR,LF,RF.?

So a better than OEM steering stabilizer will cover up the underlying problem(s) for 2 years and multiple trails? Hmm. Perhaps I'll recheck the various components for excessive wear.

Good Point, but I have usually changed everything around anyway. Ha ha, you can't leave well enough alone.

The Mudders I bought brand new, tried every available means to balance them, changed tires to different wheels and no matter what we tried the wobble would come back. Had a set of brand new ATs and once installed on the wheels the mudders had been on, never had the issue again.

20k miles on 37s and a little extra height? Ball joints, but they probably won't test bad. Depending on how many DW episodes you've had, the track bar bushings may now be bad as well, but more than likely a result of DW, not the cause of DW.

A good, through shaft steering stabilizer (preferrably adjustable so you can turn up the damping) may be able to keep it under control, but as stated in a previous response, it's just covering up the issue, not fixing it.

I had 40k trouble free miles on my stock height JLUR with 35s. I then got a 3.5" lift (same tires), immediate shimmy and occasional DW. I spent 3 months working on it. I did everything that is recommended except balanceing the tires. I replaced TR, DL, and SS, all in my original build plan. I installed a sector shaft brace, which was the only thing not in my original build plan. None of what I did/replaced made any improvement at all. Last resort was replacing the ball joints. Immediately the shimmy and DW were gone, even on my tires, now with 42k miles that hadn't been balanced since new. Not a hint of shimmy or DW ever since, but I got new tires (37s) a few days after the ball joints fixed everything.

If I had to do over I would start with ball joints.

Ok anecdotal evidence from me but I had what I would call a bump shimmy if I hit a pothole or train tracks. Not a true death wobble but still unnerving. A new front track bar was the solution.

I had this issue as well in early January. Stock suspension and would get wobble on the highway. My stabilizer is all dented up from off-roading, but i immediately went for the balljoints.

No more wobble after replacing ball joints.

Stabilizer relocation kits are relatively inexpensive. And fairly simple to install. Assuming 2+ inches of lift, of course.

Get someone to wiggle the steering back and forth and feel each joint. In park of course . And just start replacing everything. The only decent thing under there is the arms all the bars are junk. And the stabilizer is like something off temu
