Hi internet people,

Long time listener first time caller. I've been enjoying the build posts on here and figured I should start documenting my build, plus crowd source some feedback.

About my rig:
2022 JLUR 3.6 etorque. It's my daily driver that I wheel on the weekends. After a year and a half of ownership it's hands down the best vehicle I've ever owned, but it is also the first that I've owned that is under 130K miles :). I bought it after my wife's lease ended on our Rav4 and a deal fell through with a Bronco we had spec'd out. We had looked at Jeeps in our area before, but there was nothing in stock that we liked. Luckily, I took another pass and a dealer had just had someone back out of a new build that was delivered. It didn't have everything we wanted, but close enough and I could actually take it home that day. I haven't had any issues with it except for the random CarPlay interruptions. It's only been an issue a couple of times and I think it is more of a CarPlay issue than a Jeep issue.

All of my wheeling is in the northeast, but I am prepping to do a road trip and visit the classic off road trails around the country, shout out to @MeatRack for Badge of Honor Trail List in Google Maps. Currently working through a couple of upgrades and trying to do as much of the work myself. I work in IT so picking up a wrench is a bit new to me. Thankfully, jlwranglerforums, Youtube, and my local off road club have been great resources.

Options:
Automatic
4.10 gears
Weather Package (Heated leather seats, heated steering wheel)
Safety Package (Blind side and rear detection warning)
Cruise control
LED lights

Upgrades:
2022 Jeep Wrangler Rugged Ridge Arcus Front Bumper
Harbor Freight Badlands Apex winch
Next Venture Motorsports Belly Skids w/ etorque and UHMW (WIP)
ARB Front M210 Diff Cover Black
ARB Rear M220 Diff Cover Black
Rough Country Lower Control Arm Skid Kit (WIP)

I'm shopping around for full width rear bumper with tire carrier. Factory bumper has been chewed up and barely hanging on. Considering options from LOD, Next Venture, Expedition One, or AEV.

Thats it for now. Nice to meet y'all.

Fantastic! Love it. Similar to my story. Keep up the build thread. I've been neglecting mine.

I met the couple that own CavFab running Top of the World in Moab. Super nice couple, great story, great products. I love my CavFab rear bumper. I'm not sure they have a tire carrier bumper but they make a helluva hinge gate reinforcement kit I would trust with 37s and maybe more.

Glad you found the map useful. Ill add things if you have suggestions or share any data you want.

Cheers mate!

Thanks!

I checked out CavFab and didn’t see any tire carriers. I might pivot to a reinforced hinge setup if I can’t find a reasonable product (build quality, price, install, and customer service).

I’ll definitely let you know if I have a suggestions for the maps. Cheers.

Okay, sorry for this but I can't resist. "Meat Rack and The Dangler" sounds like the greatest comedy-porno movie name ever. I'd bet the house your handle origin story is every bit as funny as mine.

Sorry to disappoint, I was struggling to come up with a handle so I lifted a name from a classic route in my favorite climbing area. The Dangler

Although now I realized I should have called myself treehugger. I was climbing around American Fork in Utah where a lot of the climbs are glassy (slick and sharp). I was climbing a route next to a dead tree. As I was attempting to clip the finishing chains/anchor with about a foot of rope in my hands, I slipped and fell about 12 feet. As I fell I got impaled by a tree banch right in the butt cheek. It left a 4 inch scar that gives my wife a chuckle every time she sees it. Treehugger

O well missed opportunity. I hope the Internet doesn’t take your house…
