A little over a week ago I bought a 2021 Wrangler sport from a Chevy Dealership with only 37k miles. A day and a half after driving it off the lot my engine temps started shooting up and I immediately brought it back to the dealership. They looked at it and said there was exhaust fumes in the coolant and it had a blown head gasket and was going to need a new engine. They sent it off to the nearby jeep dealership and the jeep dealership is saying that there are no signs of a blown head gasket and there is just a coolant leak and something wrong with the thermostat. I am no mechanic but I know that the test for a blown head gasket is pretty simple and straight forward. I've read many horror stories of people trying to get jeep to fix things under warranty and I'm wondering if I am mistaken or this is turning into one of those stories and what I can do do get them to properly fix my jeep. Thanks

Unless you want to wait weeks or months to drive it; depending on the laws in your state and the purchase contract, I'd back out of that deal ASAP! Find another Jeep.
I got a loaner and got them to pay for my gas til it’s fixed. If I can get a brand new motor out of it, which is what the Chevy dealership told me they were gonna do, I feel like that is best case scenario. Currently they are sending it to a different jeep dealership to get a 3rd opinion.

My 1.5 cents. Let them fix what they diagnose and it’s more than that it will need more work. At least they aren’t giving you the run around.

Yeah I’m just worried about that doing something shady like using some head gasket sealer or something that’ll last just long enough til it’s no longer under warranty and then I’m screwed

If it's a 2.0 it has probably been leaking from the water pump housing for a while. Engine damage is likely.

How would I go about checking if there is any engine damage

Most likely suffering from the incredibly common water outlet leak (or leaking coolant bottle). Let them repair it and monitor the primary coolant bottle's level. Generally once these 2.0Ls overheat the head is done. If the coolant keeps going down after you get it back take it to a jeep dealer and let them replace the head under warranty.

Is it just the head that I should worry about or is there a good chance of more engine damage beyond that
