2020 JL Transmission Problems

Hey all,
Received disappointing news from my dealer in Fairfield county in CT.
I was experiencing shifting problems with my 2020 JL automatic, specifically running into 3rd gear. After some time , engine light appeared and I was able to read the code indicating a 3rd gear ratio problem.
Still under warranty, the dealer needed to check with Chrysler corporate for approval. I just heard they won’t approve a new transmission and instructed the dealer to rebuild the current unit, but parts are scarce. The dealer implied this is a known and common issue.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Is it still under full warranty or under an extended warranty? Is Stellantis refusing to approve a new transmission even if you pay for it? Any mods to the Jeep?

It is still under the original power train extended warranty, I think 5 years. The dealer confirmed this is covered, and originally estimated they would replace the transmission. The dealer submitted paperwork/pictures and after 2 weeks corporate advised they need to repair/not replace the transmission components. No engine mods of any kind. The dealer said he is waiting a response from a nearby dealer who has 5 kits, but is concerned they may need them. This sounds like a a larger issue with the transmission.

Epilogue
Dealer had to wait 2 weeks from FCA for authorization- would not approve new transmission, only a clutch rebuild kit. Another problem was the kit availability is scarce, so dealer had to call other dealers, but ultimately successful.
For those interested, I earlier detected a P0733 code which indicated a gear 3 shift incorrect ratio.
They installed the new shaft kit and so far so good.
Note this seems to be a common problem as the replacement kit is scarce.

The dealer does not rebuild 8 speeds. I'm really surprised this is what they told you. We don't pull any ZF units apart other than a valve body. This code is relatively common and we always replace the unit for it.
