Repair is done. My shop said they have seen this happen on a few rigs and it doesn’t seem to matter if you wheel it or run a heavy load out. Mainly determined on if the welds were crap from the factory.

That's exactly what I was thinking, very nice job! Beefy! 👍

That looks like a good repair, did they give you any grief welding the frame?
I took it to the off-road shop I use for this. After seeing another poster say Jeep called for a frame replacement on theirs as the warranty repaired I said, “Hell no.”

Seems like an odd design. The forces on the bracket are upwards, so it would make more sense to wrap the bracket around the bottom of the frame than the top, which should give it better retention against the upward force. I think if you want to reinforce it better, make a small bracket that welds to the original one and then wraps around the bottom and wells there, too.

Mines a 22 JLURD with 17K. Its and overland purpose built Jeep from AEV. Never abused but has been on multiple Badge of Honor trails. It's heavy off the showroom floor. Add a couple of adults a cooler and some recovery gear and I'll bet it's close to GVWR. WTH was Jeep thinking? A couple of months ago I noticed the clunking noise and couldn't quite pinpoint it until a close undercarriage inspection several weeks ago. Found the rear passenger spring perch torn and pulling away from the frame on both sides. Rear drivers was starting but not as bad. Ended up at my local Jeep shop with guys I trust to repair and gusset the structure. Simple, clean and fast. My thanks to BDinTx for your correspondence and Ryan at Vegas 4x4 for solid clean repair. So my question is what has jeep done to the 2024 to increase capacity? Does anyone know?

The discovered the same weld failures on my 2019 JLU it's considered a overcrawler carries a bit of weight in the back. the shop welded them up for me. I have 120k miles on it. I pretty sure I know when and where I was when it broke the video is posted on my IG account @Mud_Wasp_2019_JL

How much did they charge to repair?

Looks like this issue was not isolated to any specific years. This is on a 2023 2 door. Found this 2 weeks ago. Passenger side bucket completely ripped off the frame and tearing from the cross member. Had a dealer inspect it knowing what the outcome would be before I even found this thread, but wanted to hear from them. They act like they have never seen this before, and it was beyond their ability to repair. (Which i already knew). So off to a fab shop we go.

It’s unfortunate they can’t improve their robo-welder consistency and accuracy.
